Alpha Lily Reaper

It's amazing how everything you once believed in can change in a moment. The once sad and in pain father looked extraordinarily ruthless to the woman who had spent her life by his side, impersonating a woman who was none other than my real mother. Her eyes that were once filled with charm and poise, were lifeless and filled with fear. A part of my heart struggled with this behaviour from my father. It took me back to the night where he simply pushed me to the wolves as I was devoured for something that I never did. Although this woman was not my birth mother, she was the woman that had raised both me and my brother.

I am struggling to see whether she truly is the evil woman we believe that she is. She wasn't harsh or cruel to me or reed. I can't remember a time when she wasn't affection to us and a part of my heart does not want to believe that what she has done is true. However the evidence that we have uncovered  only points to her.

My father's hard hand strikes her again across the face. His hit wasn't feeble or weak. There was a lot of strength used. I can see his eyes flicker between him and his wolf. I want to stop him as it is not in my character to watch a woman be abused but we don't have time to rest. We need answers and we need them quick. It's unclear whether she has been in contact with anyone that could put us at risk. I can't let my pack fall any further.

"Lisa, I won't ask you again. Who is Lucas' father?" My father's ferocious gaze lands on Lisa. Her face is tear-stained. Her eyes are red. Her hair is messed up from the usual composed hairstyle she usually wears.

"He is your... your son..." She stutter's out. However before she can speak another word, another hard smack hits her face.

"Don't lie to me. Do you think after all these years of being together I wouldn't know when you are telling the truth? Do you think that I will believe your lies over the truths that we uncovered? If you believe that I will go easy and soft on you because of the years we've spent together, you must be mistaken." My father lets out a cruel laugh that it sends chills up my spine.

Even though I had grown up watching my father as an Alpha, I was never allowed to witness him torturing a prisoner to gain information. My brother, Reed who is stood to the side, looks on cruelly. Both of us are here for answers. Answers that only this woman can give. Reed is quite sentimental underneath his cool and chilled exterior, but watching father beat Lisa, he doesn't even blink an eye. I can't help but wonder if he had already seen this side to father growing up. For me, the man in front of me is a completely different entity than the fun-loving Alpha I grew up watching.

"Please... you have to believe me..." Lisa cries out in pain.

"Lisa, you've seen how far I can go. You watched me as I abandoned my own daughter when I believed that she betrayed the kingdom." I can't help the shudder that hits me as memories of the past rush through my mind. "If you think that I won't torture you till you speak, you really don't know who you have been lying in a bed next to for the last few decades." His harsh voice echos through the cold and damp dungeon.

"Please...I'm your mother..." She weeps out, however before she can finish her sentence Reed rushes up to her and tightly grips her hair. He pulls her, almost lifting her up from the chair where she is tied up, her face staring directly at her with a look that is almost similar to our father.

"Do not even think of tainting our mother's name. You may have raised us, but I don't believe you have done that from the bottom of your heart. You done that because you had a roll to play. Do you think I don't remember how it was you that encouraged father to let go of Lily? Do you think I don't remember you whispering in his ear, telling him that if he were to do something to help her that he would be endangering the pack? Do you really believe a woman like you is deserving to be called a mother? Would a mother carelessly throw away a child that they had borne and raised like you? Without even investigating further?" Reed's words were nothing but sharp as he spat in her face. I see her eyes meet mine, almost begging me to help her. She's looking at me like I'm her only chance, her only saviour. I can't help but turn my head away.
