I planned to continue on April Fool's day thinking, "Hey, you wanna know what'd be a funny bit? Continuing that fanfic you so unceremoniously dropped." Now it's purely for a single scene that I've improved upon while making corrections. Now it's because I read several fanfics that I personally didn't like.
Also, I will be flashing back a bit for my benefit and slight retconning. Glynda's announcement did not happen at the end of the previous chapter.

3rd person pov
Ironwood:
Here Ozpin! He slams Ozpin's desk They were here! They are here!
Glynda:
We are well aware of that, James, but please continue acting like a child.
Ironwood:
Great! We're aware! Now, how about we do something with that awareness instead of ignoring their presence?!
There is a ding from the elevator as Ruby enters the office
Ruby:
Sorry I was late. Someone, not me, accidentally pressed every button on the way up.
The adults were far from pleased
Ruby:
Ah, not the time?
Ozpin:
No, it is not that Miss Rose. Thank you for coming. Are you well?
Ruby:
I mean, I guess. I'd probably be better if I wasn't 3-0 against the bad guys.
Again, the adults fail to see the humor in her statement
Ruby:
I mean, yeah, I'm great!
Ironwood:
Ruby Rose, what you did last night was commendable. As a huntress-in-training, you saw a possible threat and took action. You did your very best, I'm sure.
Ruby:
Thank you, sir!
Ozpin:
While the general has given us an idea of last night's events, we were hoping that you could provide any more details.
Glynda:
Any associates? Familiarities?
Ruby:
Not really... She had a mask and didn't speak at all. I don't think it was her semblance, but she attacked me with glass. Oh, and her clothes lit up when she attacked.
Glynda:
Ignoring the glass that fits the woman who Ruby and I encountered with Torchwick.
Ironwood:
Enhancing clothes with dust is a common technique. It doesn't narrow the possibilities.
Ruby:
So, is she connected to Torchwick and the White Fang?
Ozpin:
It is very probable, but more information is necessary.
Ruby:
Oh... She did mention something about a hideout. Southeast of the kingdom, I think.
Glyda:
Did you not say that--
Ozpin:
Thank you, Miss Rose. Take some time to spend with your team. Big things are coming.
Ruby:
No problem.
Ozpin:
And do try to be discreet, Miss Rose.
Ruby:
Yes, sir.
She enters the elevator and heads down.
Ironwood:
There we go. We eradicate them by sending troops southeast.
Glynda:
Not everything can be solved by military strength, James! Must you treat every like a di--
Ozpin:
Glynda!
Glynda:
I am not wrong.
Ozpin:
But she has a point. Their plot goes beyond just Beacon or Vale. We do not know what their final move is, so we can not act rashly. Nor can we cause panic.
