"Sweetie, what are your plans on your debut?"

"Don't worry about it, mom. Matagal pa naman 'yon, e," sagot ko kay Mommy habang busy sa pag hanap ng phone ko. Mabuti naman ay nakita ko ito agad.

She crossed her arm. "What do you mean, Gabrielle? It's in 1 week."

Napatigil ako. "What? Weh?"

She sighed. "Yes, sweetie. Matagal na kita tinatanong dito kung ano 'yong plano mo pero mukhang busy ka naman. And now looks like you have date or something," she give me those suspicious looks.

"Mom naman, e."

"What?" She laughs and I frowned. "Okay, you're turning 18 anyway and just so you know that we support you for whatever you want to do, no more pressure, Gab."

I shook my head. "We? Mukhang imposible pag dating na kay dad, mom."

She sighed and tap my shoulder. "Just give your dad a second chance. He will do his duty better as a father, I know that. I once knew him and I know, the person that I knew back then was still on him."

"Why are you still hoping?"

"Why not?" She replied. "Villain once human after all. The world just make them one."

Tumango lang ako kahit hindi ko naiintindihan ang sinasabi niya. She laughs at my reaction and shuffle my hair.

"It's okay if you don't understand yet," she said. "So, saan ka pupunta?"

"Manonood lang ng chess."

"Hm? For me, it looks like iba 'yong tutuonan ng tingin?"

I frowned again at her. "Mom, stop, teasing me, please."

"I'm not teasing you, sweetie," she laughs. "Anyways, good for Yahwi and don't go home to late."

Ngumiti ako. "Sure, mom. Pero may possible na late na ako umuwi, kasama ko naman kila Raign at Gwin so I guess, sasama nalang ako mamaya sa kanila."

She nodded. Aalis na sana ako nung tinawag ako ulit.

"I hope you're aware what's going on?"

I smiles a bit. "It's still messed up parin, e."

She shook her head. "Love being love," mom said.

The game just finished and I'm fidgeting my finger. I don't know why I'm still here.

"Maiana?"

Napalingon ako at ngitian siya. He sighed as he shook his head. My smile immediately disappeared and rolled my eyes over him.

Agad siyang lumapit sa 'kin and pinched my cheeks. "Stop frowning."

"I smiled and you just sighed. What do you expect?"

"Nagtatampo?" He asked like he was teasing me about it.

Tinabi ko ang kamay niya. "I'm not."

Tumawa lang siya at inakbayan ako at naglakad lakas kami. We're just silent, I found silence comforting yet right now? This kind of silence is bothering me. Gusto ko sabihin sa kaniya na okay lang matalo pero alam ko ang salita na 'yon hindi magpapa-okay sa kaniya.

He's so close to win earlier yet his competitor was too wise, she turned the table at Yahwi and Yahwi was started to messed up until we all just realized that it was checkmate.

I bit my lower lip as I close my eyes. Bahala na.

"What are you doing?" He asked kaya napatingin ako sa kaniya.
