I slowly fade back into consciousness.
I sit up, and see Zeke shouting.
“Yeah, that’s right! Run, bitches!”
“What happened?”
“Militia came back, starting to haul you guys away. Kuo’s still off chasing the fellas with Wolfe,”
I get up and Zeke asks a follow up question.
“So, uh..what happened? That old guy slip you a roofie?”
I chuckle.
“No, I actually think I might have a new power,”
“Really? Come on, let’s see what you got,”
“Well, thing is I don’t really know..what it is,”
“What?! You ain’t get a vision or something like you used to?”
“Not this time,”
“Hell. Uhh, try fiddlin’ with a car or somethin’,”
“It’s worth a shot. Let’s hope it doesn’t explode this time,”
I jump down to the street below and stand next to the car, thinking about what to do with it.
Before I could think of anything, militia starts shooting at me. I duck behind the car.
More soldiers start to join. It’ll be dangerous if I don’t take them out. I need to take them all out at once.
Suddenly, I have an idea.
I channel electricity through the car. I focus on the electricity traveling through the car like they’re extension of my arms.
I lift my arms up and the car follows the motion.
The militia’s eyes widened at the site.
I push my arms forward and the car gets flung at the group, and when the car hits the ground it explodes.
I hear Zeke talk from nearby.
“Find out what ya get?”
I shrug.
“Not really,”
“Me neither. Looked like telepathy to me,”
“Guess it was some type of electromagnetism,”
“Probably,”
I get a call from Kuo.
“Hey Cole. I spotted one of Wolfe’s carrier pigeons up near the top of the Clock Tower. I need you to get it,”
“Sure, but uh..why?”
“Well, when Wolfe was undercover with the First Sons, he used messenger birds to smuggle reports to his NSA contact. Which was me,”
“Oh. So.. he’s not your significantly older boyfriend, or something like that?”
“I think the term you're looking for here is ‘father figure’,”
“Hey, it’s cool. I’m not gonna judge you,”
When I’m finished talking to Kuo, I head over to the tower and climb it.
I call Kuo when I reach the top.
“I see it,”
“There’s no need to kill it. You got any stun type powers?”
“Sure do,”
I fire a shockwave at the pigeon and it starts to fall down to the ground.
I leap from the top of the clock tower and land next to the pigeon.
