Chapter 9

I chuckled. "Just like I bet," I said. "I also bet that you're Yinero Myles Esparez."

He grinned. "Nero would be more better," he replied.

I nodded. A silence embraced us for a minute bago nagsalita si Nero ulit.

"Can you help me?"

"Sure. About?"

He looked away pero huli na kasi alam ko na namumula na siya. "About flirting."

"Oh."

"Please?"

"Why don't you try to introduce yourself with a pickup line."

"Uh, Yinero Myles but Nero would be more great but you can call me, here's my number."

"That's 6/10, so cliché," I shook my head, " 'Nero would be greater but it would be greater when you call me love' or 'Nero would be greater but you can call me whatever you want but if you still can't choose, that's fine, take your time, here's my number and call me if you already have in your mind'."

"Wow, you're a girl boss," he said in amusement.

"Who said?"

"My brother," he said.

"What about Yahwi?"

He shrugged and hide his hands in his maong shorts. "It's his story to tell. Thanks for the help, Maiana—"

"Kuya Nero!"

Napalingon kami pareho ni Kuya Nero sa biglang pagtawag ni Yahwi sa kaniyang Kuya.

"Oh, Yahwi," Kuya Nero said. "Your friend here is very kind. I bet magiging close sila ng gf mo—"

"Kuya!"

Kuya Nero just laugh and tap his brother's shoulder and then he nodded at me before he left us here. I felt something inside me want to explode after hearing what Kuya Nero said. Hindi naman ako tanga para hindi malaman nun, baka level 200+ yarn sa Wordscapes.

I took a deep breath because I felt a heavy feeling right now for an unknown reason. Parang gusto ko umiyak na nalulungkot na nagagalit na ewan.  I was about to leave when suddenly Yahwi held my arm.

"Where are you going?" He asked, looking worried.

"To hunt some treasure."

"Maiana..."

"Don't call me that," I said in a soft voice that I bet it was sounded like I'm begging him to not call me by my first name. I don't know! Every time he calls me Maiana makes my whole body system weak! Kahit mag vegetable pa ako every day at mag exercise, wala lang 'yan pag tinawag niya ako ng Maiana.

"So? Do you prefer to be called something else?"

"Yes, Gab would be great, I guess."

He act like he was thinking. "I don't think so, it's a bit underrated" he leaned into me kaya napatras ako. "What do you think, Hon?"

I almost cursed under my breath when my back hit the shelf and I suddenly hiccuped. I glared at him when he chuckled.

"How dare you," I said in a murderous voice.

"How did I dare you? I just called you Hon and you suddenly hiccupped and I just found it adorable, Maiana."

I felt the heat on my face so I just avoid his gaze and was about to walk away when he blocked my way.

"Ano na naman?"

"Galit kaagad si Maiana, aww."

I rolled my eyes. "Can you stop? Uuwi na kami, where's Raign?" I asked.
