Kirti was swamped with work the year-end was nearing and she needed every case rounded up from the time they had gotten back she was drowning herself tying up loose ends just so she could get the entire holiday off instead of working alternate days.

she laid her head against the chair turning around to view the outskirts of the city it was dark out she had no idea where the time had gone well she did but she refused to admit the fact that she was a workaholic like her dad.

deciding that she had spent enough time and needed to head home she locked her office and walked out telling the watchman goodnight. entering her car, she was hit with a sudden craving for ramen driving through the city she found her favorite convenience store she made her way inside

" hey, Adam" she greeted the store owner who smiled at her " hey Kirti long time no see, no time for this old man anymore huh?" Kirti chuckled Adam was like her grandad to her and she loved to spend time with him, she did feel a bit guilty though she was so consumed by work that she did not even have time to herself " you doing it again child and I am not happy about it" Adam gave her stern look.

smiling sheepishly " can I have my ramen I am really hungry?" he shook his head Kirti as he provided her with one of the things that could put a smile on her face, she made her way to the window seat and began to eat...

"Kirti?" it was the voice she dreaded to hear all color drained from her face , the voice she knew that voice all too well countless nights of falling off to sleep to it, it was the voice that belonged to the person that could once put a smile on her face or used to put a smile on her face.

lifting her head she met with the eyes that she had once loved sneaking glances at , unsure of what to do she just looked at him afraid her voice was going to betray her gulping down the lump that formed in her throat

" h..how are you?" ....

"I am well Thean" that was all she said before she continued to eat appetite being long gone but anything would be a great distraction

" that's good" he smiled at her but all it did was ... it did nothing

"what do you want?" she asked in a cold tone.

"I just popped in to buy some stuff and I saw you...and I wanted to find out how you were" Kirti chuckled dryly " well as you can see I am doing just fine, I mean you did not care when you blocked me right? even though I said please don't contact me again, I expected you to give some form of explanation or tell me that you did value whatever we had, but I fucked up by being nice to you when I should have treated you like every other guy, sad to say that I learned the hard way that you weren't worth shit, so much for not being like the rest, so much for keeping your walls high hmm? one call one message just to allow me to accept the fact that you lied... you led me on and don't even deny it I wanna be angry right now but honestly, I, don't feel shit. I felt all the emotions I felt a couple of years ago but I am fine actually thanks".

" babe? I am done" Kirti felt insecure again and it frustrated her breathing in and out slowly trying to calm herself unsure of how to leave the situation

"Thean whose this?" Kirti waited to see what he would say but just as he was about to answer she beat him to it " your boyfriend just wanted advice on the ramen since he wanted to get some for both of you'll".

picking up her stuff and throwing the empty carton into the trash Kirti made her way out.

she knew that this was the first and last that she would see him, she let him go she released him and whatever emotions she felt towards him even if it was love.
