Dylan was frustrated he needed a new secretary the previous one had left due to family commitments so he had to let her go , he out of all people knew how important family was, so for the past week he had been interviewing candidates, whom either drooled over him or flirted making him mad and dismissing them immediately leading to none of the interviewees being competent enough to be his secretary.

he had so many meetings that he had to move around to accommodate everything, he knew if he asked the others they would help but he did not want to burden them, he felt like he was slacking again, he felt like that young boy who had no sense of direction, he hated it, he hated feeling inferior rubbing his temples  a soft knock was heard "come in"

"Sir? sorry to interrupt but I have finished with my reports for the week, I will start upgrading the contracts for the following companies but would like for you to check them and make sure everything is in order before I can email them to them by Friday, soon we will be closing for the holidays so I wanted to get all this done so they have time to go over the contract before we start the new year"

he was to  stunned speak to the girl that stood in front of him, glowed with a simple smile plastered on her face not caked with makeup like the rest of the women in his company, her cat-like eyes starring back at him, trying to figure out who she was since he did not take time to remember names he found her name badge pinned neatly onto her shirt " Leah right?" the girl nodded.

" intern?" she nodded once again afraid that she had done something wrong she could not lose this internship as it was the only income she had to provide for her mother tears began welling up in her eyes " sir I am sorry I know I was supposed to see your secretary but there was no one by the reception and these files were urgent..." she continued to ramble.

not liking the idea of her crying for some reason " Leah relax please, you did nothing wrong the internship program ends this month and from records and how you presented yourself now I wanted to let you know that you are hired as my secretary I will email you a contract with the terms and conditions and what not".

she was ecstatic knowing this was more than enough quickly wiping her eyes she resumed her professional demeanor " thank you, sir, I look forward to it" placing the documents on his table she made her way out of his office, finally at peace that she would hopefully be able to see to her mother properly now.

Dylan was very interested in her there was something about her and the way he could not bear to see her upset and it irked is very being he wanted to find out her about, but at the same time, he knew it would infringe on her privacy so rather he decided to get to know her as they worked together.

she was not like the rest who threw themselves at him but rather timid she had this innocence and sensitivity about herself, she seemed fragile it kind of reminded him about someone very close to his heart.
