Chapter 53

KEN

I brought Paulo at the nearest hospital.

I didn't know what happened or what went wrong. He just collapsed.  I was panicking but I was also quick to react. Binuhat ko siya at agad na isinakay sa kotse.

I checked his pulse and his breathing while we're on the car and it seems all normal to me. But I never been complacent. I drive as fast as I can to arrived immediately.

The doctor is still checking him and I was just outside. Walking back and forth. Ewan ko pero kinakabahan ako.

Bakit siya nahimatay? May sakit ba siya or anything? Napapabayaan na ba niya ang sarili niya? Dahil ba ito sa akin??

My mind was clouded by a lot of questions.

Maya maya pa'y lumabas na ang doktor.

"Doc kamusta po siya? Ano po bang naging problema? Bat po siya nawalan ng malay??" sunod sunod na tanong ko.

"The patient is okay. He's sleeping inside." wika nito na agad namang nakapagpaluwag ng dibdib ko. "As for your questions, I can't answer that right now. Cause I am going to run some tests on him first to determine why he suddenly fainted. I'm sorry, excuse me." the doctor said and left.

I entered Pablo's room. Nilapitan ko siya.

He looks peaceful while he's sleeping. Ngunit halata ang pagiging maputla niya. Maging sa kanyang labi ay kitang kita. He looks so pale.

Ano bang nangyayari sayo Pau?

I pulled a chair beside Paulo's bed. I held his hand.

His palm was cold.

I feel that he's been neglecting his health these past few days. It's evident.

Kasalanan ko ba? Is this my fault? Kaya nagkakasakit na siya??

Tangina.

A few minutes, the door opened.

I thought it was the doctor but it's Stell.

"Ken what happened??!" humahangos na tanong nito habang lumapit sa kapatid. "Why is he here? Did you do anything to him??!" nakaasik na tanong nito.

He's mad.

Sino bang kapatid ang hindi?

"I'm sorry Stell." I sincerely apologized.

Nakikita ko ang galit sa mukha nito.

"Sinundan ko siya hanggang sa condo niyo. Sinubukan ko siyang kausapin. Pero saglit pa lamang kaming nasa tapat ng unit niyo ay bigla nalang siyang natumba." I looked down. "I don't know the cause but, i'm really sorry Stell." I said.

He didn't respond. He caress his brother's hair instead.

"Anong sabi ng doctor??" tanong muli nito.

Tumingin ako sa kanya.

"The doctor said that he'll be making some tests to identify what's wrong to Pablo." I replied.

I hear Stell heaved a sigh.

"I hope everything's okay." rinig kong bulong nito.

Di nagtagal ay nagising si Pau.

I'm still sitting beside him and holding his hand.

"K-Ken...?" he weakly utter.

I squeezed his hand.

"I'm here Ga. I'm here." I replied.

It breaks me to see him like this. Hindi ko alam na sobra na pala siyang nahihirapan ng dahil sa akin.

Should I just listen to him and obey my father?

Tangina hindi ko kaya.

"Pl-Please....leave..." he mumbled.

Fuck!

He's really pushing me away. And I hate it.

"Pablo ano ba??!" Stell yelled. "Hanggang kailan ka ba makikipagmatigasan hah?! Alam kong ayaw mong umalis si Ken pero you kept on telling him to do so! Then what?! You're suffering! You both are! Look at yourself right now. Mukha bang okay ka hah?!" dire diretsong wika nito.

Nagulat ako ng pagalitan ni Stell ang kapatid.

Pau closed his eyes and a tear escape from it.

"Mahal mo si Ken diba?!? Then fight for him! Fight for your love! Kailan ka pa naging mahina hah?!" Stell continued.

Mukhang nasasaktan na si Pau sa mga sinasabi ng kakambal nito kaya inawat ko na ito.

"Tama na Stell." I said. "Tama na." mahinang wika ko.

Pau is crying.

Tumayo ako at marahang pinunasan ang mga luha niya.

"It's okay." I whispered. "I'll leave you alone if that's what you w-want Pau." saad ko.

Tila ba'y nabasag ang boses ko ng sabihin ko ang mga katagang yun.

Ang sakit tangina!

"A-Ako nang iiwas para hindi k-ka na mahirapan." my voice cracked.

Fuck!

Maybe, this is for the best.

Maybe, this is not our time.

Patuloy pa rin sa pag iyak si Pau.

"N-No...n-no..." he mumbled while shaking his head.

I felt a tight squeezed on my hand.

We're abrupted by a knock on the door.

The doctor came in.

"Doc, kamusta po si Pau? Ano pong problema sa kanya? Bat po siya nawalan ng malay???" sunod sunod na tanong ni Stell.

"Don't worry, walang problema sa kanya." he said.

We sighed because of the relief.

"Maybe, he experienced a lot stress which made him faint suddenly. Though it's normal for someone who's in his situation." the doctor added.

Medyo naguluhan naman ako sa sinabi ng doktor.

"Uhh doc, sabi niyo po walang problema sa kapatid ko. Ano pong 'in his situation' ang tinutukoy niyo?" Stell asked.

He looks puzzled as well.

I took a glance on Pau and he's also carefully listening.

Hindi ko napigilan ang aking sarili at marahang hinawakan ang pisngi nito.

I gave him a soft smile which earned the same from him.

"He's pregnant. Congratulations!" masiglang bati ng doktor.

My eyes widen. And so as Pau and Stell's.

"PO??!" we said in unison.
