Just like most mornings, Sasuke felt nauseous the very second he opened his eyes due to the alcohol still swirling inside him. Drinking as much as he did always made him feel like absolute shit the next day, yet he knew he wouldn't stop.

The pain of his hangover always managed to cancel out the pain of other things even if only briefly.

"Fuck," he groaned as he pinched the bridge of his nose.

The digital clock sitting on the nightstand next to him read 12:51 P.M., but he didn't care how late it was. It wasn't like he had a job to head to anymore.

He took his time before finally lifting himself off the bed he'd slept in all night, his eyes roaming around the vaguely familiar room as he pushed the leg resting over his own off of him.

Beside him laid Mayu, the girl he'd been seeing for a while before leaving for his last long-term, still fast asleep. He wasn't worried about her waking up as he would be with other girls. He was familiar with her and how her mornings went.

He'd thought she'd never speak to him again considering the way he ended things with her a year ago, so when she approached him at the bar last night, he was surprised, to say the least.

Thinking back, it was Kai who had recommended her to him. It made him wonder if he also bedded her and that was how they'd met. It made sense.

He remembered the day he ended things with Mayu, he'd ditched her to see if Sakura was okay after spotting her downing drinks at that random pub. Sakura knew he'd been seeing Mayu and mumbled something about sharing. He didn't know what she'd been talking about back then, but now he understood.

Sakura was thinking out loud about how he was sharing the same woman with her husband.

The thought made anger rise in his chest. Kai had been disrespecting her since way back then, and that was why Sakura would randomly go to that pub and drink as much as she was able to.

That son of a bitch...

"Hm... you're still here," Mayu mumbled tiredly while tracing her finger on his bare back.

Sasuke turned back to look at her and he could tell by her eyes she didn't mind a morning round.

Unfortunately for her, he wasn't in the mood.

And he'd never be in the mood for her again.

Last night he realized she couldn't be a replacement for the pinkette as she used to be. Now instead of her green eyes satisfying him, they only hurt him.

"I'm leaving," Sasuke voiced as he stood from the bed.

Mayu lifted herself up and watched him as he dressed. Her eyes shamelessly checked him out before he was able to cover himself. "You wanna meet up at the pub later?"

"No."

She pouted. "Okay, well, if you ever change your mind, you know where to find me." Her eyes bore into his as she knew they were the main thing he liked about her.

Sasuke merely nodded before walking out and heading home.

The moment he made it, all he could do was stand in front of his door, staring absently at his bare apartment.

He didn't have a job, his place looked like he was almost done moving out, he had a headache, and it'd been five days and his teammate was yet to pay him a visit for what he'd done to Kai.

Thankfully, Naruto had been sent on a mission the day before the incident. His arrival was soon though, and once he found out, he was undoubtedly going to make his way to his apartment.
