[2 Months Later]

The pinkette sat on her office couch while her blonde best friend sat across from her. They'd been hiding from their responsibilities and gossiping for more than half their shift.

It was only a matter of time before Tsunade dragged them out into the load of work that was surely waiting for them outside.

"Anyway," Ino started once her laughing had died down. "Hinata and Naruto's wedding anniversary is coming up soon. I need to get started on their order already."

Sakura remembered how the couple was planning an anniversary party this year instead of going on a honeymoon-like trip.

From what she heard, there were a lot of people who were attending. Though the after party was only going to be Konoha 12—and spouses.

Sakura could only pray she didn't wake up the next morning promising to never drink again.

Just as she was about to let her friend know she'd help her out, the door swung open making them both turn their heads.

"There you are." Kai smiled at his wife. He walked to the back of the couch she sat on and then leaned down to give her a kiss in greeting. "I missed you."

"Did you?" Sakura smiled against his lips.

"Little bit," he teased.

"Barf." Ino scrunched up her nose.

"Ino," Kai straightened himself up a bit. "When did you get here?"

"Ha, ha, so funny," she rolled her eyes and then through her pen at him when he started to chuckle.

"What are you ladies up to?"

"Work," they both said at the same time, even though they were all aware they hadn't done anything all day.

Kai shook his head in amusement. "I only came to let you know I'm back from my mission," he informed before bending back down to give Sakura a quick peck. "I'm about to head home and shower. Meet me there later?"

Sakura nodded with a smile then watched him head back toward the door.

"Ino," he nodded her way.

"Kai," she stuck her tongue out which he responded with a wink.

Right before he was about to close the door behind him, he glanced back in and faced his wife. "I almost forgot, Lord Sixth wanted to see you."

"Do you know what for?" Sakura's brows pinched.

"He didn't say, only that he wanted you to go see him before the end of the day," he answered, and then suddenly a suggestive smirk formed on his lips. "Go before coming home. I plan on staying in the rest of the day."

Sakura's face turned bright red, resulting in both Ino and Kai laughing at her reaction. Unless she was in the heat of the moment, she was still such a prude.

Now it was Sakura who threw her pen at him, forcing him to shut the door and leave to evade the attack.

"It's good to see Kai back to his old self." Ino voiced after a moment.

Sakura shifted in her seat. She'd heard from everyone about Kai's state while she was away. He hadn't been sleeping, he'd been drinking heavily even during the job, hardly ever ate, was walking around moody and half dead, etc.

It was hard to believe the person they were talking about was Kai. It didn't sound like him at all. The night she returned home, she'd only been able to see a glimpse of what they were talking about.
