As Julie stood in front of her flustered peers, I couldn't help but smile.

I finally played with the boys again. It felt refreshing, like I had finally found the missing piece to complete the puzzle.

"Hey, where'd the rest of the band go?" Students continued to question.

"Wait. Were those holograms?"

"Yes! Yes, they were holograms," Julie chuckled nervously. "I plugged it into the ceiling projector before the show. I'd explain it, but it involves algorithms and science stuff."

Apparently, that seemed to satisfy the young students as they began to cheer for Julie once more. I couldn't help but beam for the young girl on stage.

"That's wild," Luke started talking excitedly. "They could see us when we were playing, but not when the music ended."

"We should double check," Reggie said as he started to climb the stage steps. Once on, he did a questionable dance move infront of the audience before coming back down towards us.

"Yeah, I don't...I don't think they can see us," he concluded.

"I wish I couldn't see you," Alex replied.

"Make that two of us," I added.

"Well that's a shock," Alex said lowly.

Elbowing him in the ribs, I began to drag the boys out of the gymnasium.

Strolling through the halls, a sense of deja vu washed over me. I remember the times the boys and I would "accidentally" skip classes or just hangout underneath the stairs.

"Man, I miss high school," Reggie breathed.

"Yeah, you said that already," I chuckled.

"I know, but...I just...I don't know. This was all I ever knew, all I ever had, y'know?" Reggie explained.

"C'mon Jaiden," Luke began in a sing song-y voice as he placed an arm around my shoulder, "don't you miss high school?"

"Oh..um...yeah I guess. I dropped out..." I responded quietly. Might as well tell them now. They'll need to know someday, so I'll start with this. Baby steps.

"What? Why didn't you tell us?"

"I just...I didn't have the time. It's fine. I was fine. I just... I wanted to focus on music. It was just me," I mumbled.

"And Bobby, right?" Reggie asked as he rushed on my other side, watching Luke.

"I told you, Bobby and I never really talked after you guys...um...yeah. We rarely saw each other. But I was fine by myself."

Alex eyed my suspicously. He knows me too well, he knows I'm hiding something.  Just as he was about to say something, Luke beat him to it.

"Hey!" Luke exclaimed, "We should try that human pyramid thing, y'know, like how we did in school?"

"Oh God, remind me why we did that?" Alex asked.

"That was because these two," I explained, motioning to Reggie and Luke, "wanted to join the cheer team to talk to girls."

"Ah, right, and obvioulsy I was somehow roped into this beause I honestly couldn't care less about it," Alex smirked.

"Hey, at least they didn't ask you to be their choreographer," I shuddered.

"Dude, I was doing the choreography," Alex bit back.

"Okay!" Luke intruppeted, "Let's not bash me and Reggie here because it was a really good plan, you just don't want to admit it."
