Julie had already gone to school and Alex had gone to check out the rest of the town, leaving me alone with Luke in the garage.

It was awkward in the garage, but I didn't know why. The silence was so loud, it was impossible to not hear it. Luke kept glancing at me as he awkwardly walked around the garage. I ignored him and continued to write in his songbook.

I don't know where my songbook is, but I wouldn't be surprised if it just happened to appear in the garage. Lately, it seems that everything I thought I left in my room has been in this garage for years. I still have no idea why my stuff, the things I thought I left, were here. It just didn't make sense. I had never brought them here, nor do I think Beatrice did. Even if she did, why would she?

Another thing, how the hell did Julie know who I was? She didn't know the boys until they introduced themselves, but she knew me. She knew who I was and she had my things in her garage.

"Alright Jaiden, we need to talk," Luke finally let out as he interrupted my thoughts.

"About what?" I ask.

"You and Reggie."

"There's nothing to talk about," I said quickly as I rushed to the door. Luke beat me to it and blocked my exit.

"You know I can poof out of here, right?" I remind him.

"Look, Jaiden, I know what happened between the two of you. And I know you don't want to talk about it, but I think this could help. Please don't leave."

Huffing out a sigh, I walked over and slumped on the couch.

"Okay," Luke began, "I know you two almost kissed and I ruined the moment, I'm sorry. But in my defense, I was super pumped Julie was going to sing our song."

I couldn't help but roll my eyes.

"Jaiden, I'm serious. Alex told me everything you guys talked about last night. I know you hate it when someone meddles in your life, but come on. You need to do something about this. You can't just lead Reggie on."

"Lead him on?" I ask angrily. "If anything, he's the one leading me on. Everytime it seems like we're going somewhere, he always backs off and leaves me alone."

"That's because he doesn't know what's going on, Jaiden! Think about it, his parents never really loved each other, they'd fight constantly. Reggie doesn't know what love is. He's never felt anything like that before. All of this is new and confusing for him. He told me himself, he's scared. He doesn't know what's going on."

"Don't you think I'm scared, too?" I ask softly.

"Well, yeah. But maybe instead of ignoring your feelings, you should talk about them. Talk to Reggie about this, explain how you feel, and see where it goes from there, " Luke reassured me.

"You and Alex set this up, didn't you."

Luke turned red with embarrassment, "Well, yeah, maybe, but only 'cause we want you guys to each other. It's obvious you two love each other."

"I wouldn't say 'love'..."

"Dude, you like him. Accept it," Luke grinned.

I decided to talk to Reggie tonight. Right now, we were going to surprise Julie at her school. She was going to audition to get back into the music program with our song, Bright, and we couldn't be happier.

The four of us poofed into her high school gymnasium. There were teenagers crowded on the floor as they all watched an act perform onstage.
