"Ladies and gentlemen!" a man yelled in a showmen's voice and I looked up at the stage to see a middle-aged man with gray hair and brown eyes making it look like he could be the father of the man outside. he wore a black-tailed coat with and red dress shirt under it and a black bowtie and he had on a pair of black dress pants and shoes.

"Welcome to my show!" The man yelled

"I hope you have enjoyed your food and I hope you will enjoy the show even more!" the man yelled and everyone clapped

"Prepare to entire a world of magic where things are not always as they seem, a world where anything can happen and the mystical becomes real" The man said getting a lot of ooohs and ahhs from the crowd.

"Now let's bring out the lady of the night, Miss Lou Ellen Blackstone!" The man yell before the curtains pulled back.

standing in the middle of the stage was a girl around mine and Cecil's age. she had dark ebony hair that was a little wavy and electric lime green eyes with almond brown skin. she had on a short red dress with a black ribbon around the wrist that came down to her knees and was rimmed with feathers and she wore a pair of black high heels. it did not look like a dress for someone of her age but the thing that really bothered me was the expression on her face. she had a big smile as she waved and bowed to the crowd but I know this kind of smile because I had worn it myself more times than I could count. it was a smile that was forced, a smile that tried its best to hide what you were truly feeling.

"That's her, that's the half-blood" Hawthorn said

"What is she wearing? that doesn't look like something she should wear" Cecil said

"I think she doesn't have a choice" I said

"What makes you say that?" Cecil asked

"Because she's not happy" I said

"She looks happy, I mean she's smiling" Cecil said

"Yes but that's not a real smile and there's a big difference between a real smile and a fake smile" I said

"How do you know?" Cecil asked

"Because I've had that same smile before" I said

"You have? but you always seem so happy" Cecil said

"That's what I want people to think" I said before I took off the leather cord bracelet Hawthorn had made me and showed Cecil what was under it.

"Will" Cecil said softly

"Don't worry, I'm better now" I said as I put the bracelet back on

"I never would have guessed that's why you had a bracelet" Cecil said

"I use to wear long sleeves to cover it" I said softly as I looked down at the bracelet and rubbed it with my thumb

"Now we'll need a volunteer from the audience!" Then the man yelled as he looked at the crowd

"You!" The man yelled pointing at Cecil

"Me?" Cecil asked

"Yes, why don't you come up here and help young man" The man said

Cecil looked at Hawthorn then at me.

"Don't worry, I won't let anything happen" Hawthorn said and Cecil nodded before he got up from his seat and walked up onto the stage

"What's your name young man?" the man asked

"Robert" Cecil said and I almost laughed but I was about to contain myself

"Let's give a round of applause for Robert!" The man yelled and everyone in the crowd cheered and clapped

"Now watch as this lovely young lady makes this young man, FLY!" The man said

and everyone in the crowd lend forward in anticipation.

the girl Lou Ellen Blackstone turned to face Cecil then closed her eyes and slowly raised her hand

"Whoa!" Cecil half yelled as his feet lifted from the floor and slowly turned over so that he was stomach-side down.

The higher she raised her hands the higher Cecil went until he touched the ceiling.

"Cool! drop me!" Ceil yelled with a grin.

Lou Ellen Blackstone looked over at the man who gave her a stern look and then she looked back up at Cecil.

"Sorry" Lou Ellen Blackstone said

"Oh come on, Please. I know you can catch me" Cecil begged

"I bet the people in the crowd would love to see it" Cecil said and people started to cheer

Lou Ellen Blackstone shrugged her shoulders then dropped her hands and as she did Cecil fell. right before he hit the ground she raised her hands and he stopped and everyone stood up and started clapping and cheering.

"That was awesome!" Cecil yelled as he got up

"And that concludes our show for the night!" The man said a little suddenly before he almost pushed Cecil off the stage and the curtains closed but before they closed all the way I saw the man glare at Lou Ellen Blackstone.

"Anyone want to see backstage?" I asked and Cecil smiled

"I'm up for it" Cecil said

"Let's wait until people start to leave so we have less of a chance of being noticed" Hawthorn said.

"Sounds like a good plan" Cecil said as he sat down in his chair.

The people in the room sat finished the food they had and talked about the show.

Some people were amazed saying they didn't even see a string or anything and how they even got someone from the audience to volunteer

Others liked the show but were sure that it was all planned and that Cecil was actually part of the show's team and they throw out ideas of how they could have made him go up.

After about five to ten minutes people started to leave and the three of us got up and snuck onto the stage and behind the curtains.

We looked around the stage and found a small set of stairs in the back on the left that lead to a door so we went that way.

Opening the door lead us to a hallway that had four doors. Two on the left and two on the right. It wasn't hard to find the door that Lou Ellen Blackstone was behind because we could hear the man yelling at her.
