"Did I just turn her into dust?" Cecil asked as he looked down at what was his foster mom

"That's what happens when you kill a monster, they vaporize into dust then go back to the underworld were they reform" Hawthorn said

"Reform? So she's not actually dead?" I asked

"Monsters don't actually die, they just reform and come back. That's why there are times throughout history where one monster has been killed be different people" Hawthorn said

"How long dose it take them to reform?" Cecil asked with a look of worry

"That is never a sure thing. Sometimes it can take days while other times it can take thousands of years" Hawthorn said and then I heard sirens in the distance.

"Looks like we caused a scene" Cecil said as he looked around and as I also looked around I saw several people looking out their windows or walking out their front doors, some people had even stopped their cars and were taking pictures.

"We need to go before the cops get here, who knows what all these mortals saw through the mist" Hawthorn said

"What's the mist?" I asked

"And what do you mean by mortals?" Cecil asked

"The mist is what hides the world of the gods from mortals who are people that don't have a godly parent." Hawthorn said

"Now let's get moving, the mist may be able to hide what actually happened but it won't hide our faces and a lot of people are taking pictures" Hawthorn said

As we walked through the streets of Arkansas We took the time to bring Cecil up to speed with the fact that he was a half-blood meaning his father was one of the Greek gods and that life was going to be much harder from now on.

"How long have you two been traveling?" Cecil asked as we walked

"Two days" Hawthorn said

"Two day?! And you were on a bus? Man, there's no way I'd be able to sit still that long" Cecil said and making me laugh a little

"Same, I can't even sit still through one class in school. So no, we were not on a bus the whole time" I said

"Wait do you have ADHD?" Cecil asked

"Yeah, one of my teachers thinks it's not a real thing whenever I say anything about it" I said

"Well I know for a fact that it's real because I also have it" Cecil said

"No way" I said

"Almost all half-bloods have ADHD it keeps you on your feet because that's what you need to survive and most half-bloods also have dyslexia because their minds are more wired for Greek and not English" Hawthorn said

"Are you telling my I can speak a language I've never learned?" Cecil asked

"Maybe not speak it but you cand understand it and read better when things are written in Greek" Hawthorn said

"That's cool, so how are we going to this camp half-blood?" Cecil asked

"That's a good question. I guess the bus is out of the question now" I said

"Yeah, we will have to find another way to get to New York" Hawthorn said

"I believe I can help you with that for a price" came the voice of a woman behind us and we all turned to looked at her.

The woman had long lustrous black hair that had wheat woven into it, her eyes were a warm brown color and she had a long flowing dress that was the same golden color as the wheat in her hair.

Both me and Cecil stood ready for a fight while Hawthorn suddenly bowed

"Lady Demeter, to what do we owe this great honor?" Hawthorn asked

"Hawthorn please, rise" Demeter said

"I'm sorry but who are you?" Cecil asked

"Who is she?! She is Demeter, The Goddess of Agriculture, Fertility the Harvest, Sacred Law, the Earth and the seasons" Hawthorn said in the same way one might interduce their lifelong idol

"You said you could help us?" I asked

"Yes, but I would need your help first" Demeter said

"If you're a goodness, then why can't you do whatever you need yourself?" Cecil asked

"Cecil, you need to show more respect" Hawthorn said

"What I mean is why us? What can we do to help a goddess?" Cecil said

"I have other matters I need to attend to, but the task I need you to do if very importin" Demeter said

"What do you need us to do lady Demeter?" Hawthorn asked

"There is a nursey not far from here that's trapped dryads, I need you to free them and bring them to The Ozark National Forest" Demeter said

"Trapped dryads, how could they be so cruel" Hawthorn said

"What's a dryad?" I asked

"A dryad is a "A Dryad is a nature spirit who life force is connected to a plant of some kind, their actual people" Hawthorn said

"So they trapped people?" Cecil asked

"Yes. they are at Gale's Nursery in a greenhouse that the owner keeps locked" Demeter said

"You can count on us lady Demeter" Hawthorn said

"I wish you luck" Demeter said before she walked away and then vanished
