"valerie, hurry up!"
i groaned, tying my shoe and rushing down the hall. "do i really have to rush?"
she rolled her eyes playfully, "yes, cmon."
i threw my head back, but nonetheless i followed behind her. i was more than glad she was driving to the party and we weren't going with nate, i hate going anywhere with the two of them, together.
i sat in the backseat, knowing one of her friends would want the front seat and she'd just tell me to move anyway.
speaking of her friends... we pulled up to kats house, her running out to the car and getting in the front seat. "hey, maddy!" and then she turned around, "valerie! hey."
i nodded, "hey, kat."
and then maddy drove off, and we ended at bb's house, who was already waiting outside. "what's up, bitches!" she got in next to me, and opened her mouth wide once she saw me. "oh shit! you're coming too?!"
i gave her a nervous smile, nodding while maddy laughed.
i laid my head on the seat as they all played music and sung to it, bb's obnoxious vape smell filling my nose every couple seconds.
"is that.." made my raise my head, and seen we were slowing pulling into a corner store.
"oh shit, slow down." bb told her, all three of them eyeing rue. "yo, that's rue! oh my god." she finally realized.
"didn't rue like.. die?" maddy said, making me shake my head.
"oh my god, i hate ghosts." bb said, causing me to snicker.
"yo, casper!" i watched kat leaned her head out the window, rue turning around. "wanna ride?"
she walked over and looked at kat for a couple seconds before smiling, "why thank you." with a nod.
i scooted over, now sitting in the middle of bb and rue, awkwardly listening to the music maddy played, before kat rolled a blunt and passed it around the car.
eventually, we arrived and i got out of the car with a huge headache. maddy left with kat and bb, so me and rue stood next to each other awkwardly.
i turned on my heels in her direction, "uh.. hey, rue."
she looked over at me, nodding. "valerie, hey. how are you?"
it was awkward between me and rue because we didn't talk much, before she went to rehab she didn't hang out with maddy much, which meant i didn't see her. and even when she did hangout with maddy, we barely talked.
"i'm okay, how are you? how was rehab?" i asked.
she pursed her lips, "uh, you know.. it was fine."
i slowly nodded, "well.. i'm gonna go try to find maddy." and pointed towards the house, which she quickly nodded and walked away to.
