Chapter 4

After a long drive we reached my house and I thanked Harry.
"Kate..."He said.
"Yeah."I looked at him.
"Thanks."He said.
"For what?"I asked smiling.
"For being you and giving me a chance. "He said and I kissed him on his cheek.He smiled and then drove off.
I entered my house and gasped.
"Mom you came."I hugged her
"I missed you."I said.
"Me too."She said.
"How was your trip? "I asked as I sat down.
"Great....I met this guy who was our lawyer and he wants me to join the next convention with him and the other doctors liked what I said."She had sparkle in her eyes.
"That is great what is his name? "I asked
"Kyle Blue."She giggled
"The Kyle Bkue he wins every case."I said and she nodded.
"Are you sure you are just friends ."I smiled.
"Maybe he will be visiting London soon."She clapped her hands.
"We went on a date."She laughed.
"I am happy for you."I said.
"Ummm sweety I know this is hard on you but your dad will never be forgotten."She hugged me.
"I know and he would want you to be happy."I hugged her.
"You are the best."She said.
"Well Kyle is moving to London soon."She said.
"Yeah I want to go to bed."I said.
"Good night."She said and I smiled.
I opened my dresser and threw on my pj I climbed to my bed but suddenely it hit me and I cried.
"Dad I miss you so much."I said and went to sleep.The next day I opened my eyes to my mom shaking me.
"What is it...What is going on."I shouted.
"Kyle is coming today he made it a surprise get up."She laughed.
"Gosh mom."I put the pilliow on my head.
"Get up Kate."Mom said.
"Fine I am up."I stood.
"Good he is coming for lunch and will stay over."She opened my closet.
"What?......This is going way too fast mom."I said shouting angrily.
"It was just one date mother."I continued.
"Sweety the truth is I have been seeing Kyle since 3 month but I was afraid of your reaction."She sighed.
"What ?So you lied to me."I stood clueless.
"You lied straight to my face."I said feeling my eyes getting glossy.
"It isn't that big Kate."She frowned.
"Yes it is you barely have time for me and now you are replacing dad and getting a new family."I shouted.
"Kate Jones I never said that I deserve a chance of happines.. ."She shouted back.
"Forget it.....I ......I hate you."I cried and ran down.
"Kate get back here Kate."She shouted but I opened the door and ran .I kept running and never stopped untill I realised that I was in a baby pink tank top and black pajama pants and an ugg.I stopped in my tracks and looked around it is still 6 am where am I going to go? Chloe ?nope she betrayed me Jason? Nope he would say I told you so.Harry, I will call Harry.I took my phone from my pocket and dialled his number.
Answer Harry.
"Hello?"His voice was thick he must be sleeping.
"Harry?"I cried
"Kate....why are you crying?"He asked
"Harry I ran away."I sobbed
"What...why..where are you?"He asked
"I am beside Tail's cafè."I cried
"Wait there I am coming to get you."He said
"Okay ."I said and hanged up.
The coffee shop was still closed.
I can't believe this...how could she....trying to replace dad.....I won't return I will stay alone if I had to.
I sit on the ground and lean to a cold wall .I put my knees up and hug them.
Dad I won't let that happen I won't.I promise dad I will stay loyal.
Flash back....
"Daddy."I laughed and hugged him
"Princess."He kissed my cheeck
"You came."I smiled and held his hand as we walked out of school .
"What a cute bracelet you have there."He says
"Yeah my friend Evan gave it to me."I smile
"Oh Evan....a friend or..."He laughs
"Dad."I giggle
"Well when you find your prince I will be right here."He says
"To call someone a prince will take alot of time and the word I love you needs real courage."He says
I didn't understand that but know I know what it means saying I love you to Harry means alot.
I missed him so much
My thoughts stopped as Harry's black car stopped infront of me.
He climbed out and hugged me and I stood up.
"Kate.....are you alright? What happened?"He asked
"I want to go, get me out of this street."I cried
"I will take you to my place and then we can talk."He said and I nodded
He helped me to the car and I sat in the passengers seat.Harry drove quickly to his place.
"You are in your pj."He said
"I know."I said
"Well we arrived."He said and stopped the car.I opened the door to see his house it looked nice and big.We both entered and no one was here but us."Sit here I will be right back."He said and I sat on a couch in the living roon.
He came with a cup of water and I gulped it.
"My mom."I said
"She has been seeing someone."I cried
"So?"He asked
"She lied to me and he is moving to London to be near us and probably will marry her and move in with us."I cried
"Who is he?"He frowned
"Kyle Blue."I cried
"Okay."He said
"He is a lawyer or some shit."I said
Harry came and sat beside me and hugs me and I wrapped my hand around him and cried.
"I don't want to go back she wants to replace my dad Harry."I sobbed
"Kate you can stay with me for ever but this isn't a solution."He looked at me
"I have no one but you now."I said
"Kate ....I will help you don't worry."He said
"First you are freezing lets get you changed."
He took me upstairs and opened his dresser.
"Here."He gave me one of his Sweatshirts and sweatpants.
"I don't have girly stuff."He tried to make me laugh.
"I will leave you to change."He said
"Harry."I said
"Yeah?"He turned
"Thank you."I leaned and kissed him.
After our kiss I changed into the clothing he gave me and got down.
"Kate...I made breakfast."He said
"Thanks."I smiled
After our breakfast Harry said
"Kate....you need to talk to your mom."He said
"I don't know Harry I am not ready and I won't forgive my mom easily."I said
"Kate...my dad left my mom and sister and me a long time ago and that turned me into the beast I am now but I wanted my mom to be happy ."He said
"You are not a beast Harry."I frowned
"Do you know where my mom is now?"He said and I shook my haead as a no.
"She is happily married but being the jerk I am I didn't love the idea of her getting married so I ran away and now I live here alone."He said
"Harry I am sorry."I hugged him
"It's okay,she still contacts me but I just can't go back and face her."He continued
"So don't make that mistake and go get ready for your dinner."He said
"Harry you are the best thing that happened to me."I said
"You too."He kissed my cheek
"We will go to the mall and buy clothing for you to wear at dinner."He said
"I don't know what I will do when I see them."I said and stood up
"You won't do anything cause I am coming with you."He opened the door
"Really?"I smiled
"Yeah just say that I am your boyfriend."He smirked and I nodded.
We walked to the mall it wasn't far and I was still in his clothing.
We entered many shops and found nothing finally walking by a shop I looked at a beautiful navy blue dress.
"That is what you need."Harry said and I nodded I entered the shop and tried it with black heels and a black blazer.
"You look great Kate."Harry said.
"I will buy it."I said.After changing I took out my credit card which I hide in my phone case and tried to pay.
"What are you doing?"Harry frowned
"Paying."I said obviously
"I am the one who offered to go shopping I will pay."He said
"But Harry....."I said
"End of discussion."He said and paid
"But..."He glared at me
We head out side the store with silence.
"Kate I am sorry."He said as we became near his house
"Its okay."I said.
"I just didn't want to make you think that I am with you for your money."He sighed and held my hand.
"Harry I don't want to be needy and I know that you need your money for college."I said
"That is my problem Kate...I don't want you to worry about it."He said
"Harry......I don't know if I am your girlfriend but what I know is that I...I care about you and I need to be there for you."I said
"Kate....you aren't my girlfriend."He said and I gasped
"You are my everything and my only family."He kissed my hand
"Harry my father once lectured me about the word love and that when you say it you have to be sure that the other person will return it."I said
"Harry...I....I love you."I said and looked down
"Kate I love you....and I really think that we will work."He said and hugged me.
