"Morning wifey," he grinned at me before placing a sloppy kiss against my cheek. An unknown feeling ruptured throughout my body soon to be replaced by a glee of delight. Unsure of my sudden mood shift, I smiled back at Pete while I maneuvered my body in order for me to fully face him on the bed.

"That's going to take some getting used to," I replied, causing Pete's honey brown eyes to glimmer even more in the vast amount of sunlight that was pouring in.

"I can't believe you said yes," Pete said in disbelief. I furrowed my eyebrows at him in confusion. Why would he think I would say no? I mean we were happily dating and everything was sailing smoothly. There wasn't anything to make me say no.

"And why would you think otherwise?" I asked, now extremely curious to see the reasoning behind his thinking.

"Just everything that's happened so far, especially between you and I. I didn't think you were ready to take this next step with me." His voice sounded so shaky as he spoke, which furthered the amount of confusion looming around in my head. "I don't know, I guess it was my nerves getting the best of me. But you deserve the best, and there's not a day that goes by where I don't strive to be the best for you Aubrey. All I want is for you to be happy," he sincerely said, making my heart melt in the process.

"I am happy, more than happy thanks to you. You picked up all my broken pieces and put me back together," I replied in honesty. If it wasn't for Pete, I would still be completely and utterly hung up over Niall. Pete stayed by my side through thick and thin, just wanting to be there for me. With time, I finally realized how much he truly cared for me and that he deserved a second chance. "I'll forever be thankful for you. I'm glad I gave you a second chance," I added, earning a hearty laugh from him.

"I am too, baby. I love you so much," he beamed before leaning in and placing a soft kiss against my lips. My hands automatically locked around his neck, pulling him just a bit closer to deepen the kiss. As his lips continued to move in synch with mine, my mind felt frozen as if I had lost all sensations of touch. Within seconds, I carefully pulled away from Pete, the feeling disappearing immediately. Frustrated and annoyed with these sudden rushes of emotions, I slipped out from under the covers, grabbed Pete's discarded shirt off the floor and put it over myself.

"Hey, you okay?" I heard Pete ask as I walked towards his bathroom.

"Yeah, just light headed," I lied before walking in and closing the door on myself. I didn't have the slightest idea why I was acting this way. My allergies hadn't kicked in yet, so it was a likely possibility that could be the reason. After a few cold splashes of water against my face, I dried my face and walked back out. Pete had disappeared, so I decided to get myself ready to head out. I wanted to make a stop before I headed off to the office to finish up this bachelor piece of mine.

Dressed into one of the many spare pairs of jeans I kept at Pete's, a white top with black stripes straight across, and a jet black cardigan over it, I slipped on my black flats before taking my hair out of the pony tail. Brushing through it a few times, I threw it over my shoulders to freely flow. Make up wasn't something I wore too often, but today I felt that adding a bit of cover up wouldn't hurt. A brush of blush followed along with a coat of lip gloss across my lips. Purse in hand, I walked out of Pete's room and made my way down the hallway.

"Where are you going this early?" Pete raised an eyebrow at me as he took the filter out of the coffee machine.

"I have tons to do at work since today I'm submitting everything for good," I explained, grabbing a few strawberries out of the fridge.

"First article done, look at you," Pete laughed, "What was it on again?" He asked while pouring water into coffee machine. I nearly chocked on the strawberry I had been chewing at his question. Pete never really knew what I was or who I was writing about. He didn't need to know either.
