(Joker flies the Normandy to the Hawking Eta cluster, and he picks up the signal from a derelict reaper)
(But as the Normandy is flying towards it's destination, it starts to shake)
Shepard: What's with all the chop, Joker?
Joker: Doing my best. The wind's gusting to 500 kph
(The Normandy's ladar pings something, so it beeps)
Joker: There's a second ship alongside the derelict reaper. It's not transmitting any IFF, but the ladar paints it's silhouette as geth
Thorne: Great. Just great...
Shepard: I guess we know why the science team stopped reporting in
(The ship experiences a huge bump before stabilizing)
Shepard: What just happened?
Joker: The reaper's mass effect fields are still active, keeping it in orbit. We just passed inside their envelope. Eye of the hurricane, huh?
Thorne: Good going, Joker
Shepard: Ground team, this is Commander Shepard. Report to the shuttle bay, ASAP
(Soon, the squad gets ready, and they board the derelict reaper in the shuttle)
(Shepard, Thorne, Miranda, Jacob, Mordin, Garrus, Galahad, Jack, Grunt, Tali, Samara, Thane, Kasumi, and Zaeed all step off the shuttle once it lands)
(Everyone goes into a series of hallways, and they start looking for anything that could be useful)
(Galahad and Kasumi waste no time hacking the computers, looking through all the files and logs)
(They find a lot of reports referencing reaper indoctrination, but nothing about an IFF)
(Everyone is split up looking through the ship, but then it violently shakes for a second, and a bunch of doors suddenly slam shut)
Shepard: What just happened?
Joker: The reaper put up kinetic barriers. I don't think we can get through from our side
Shepard: We'll have to take down the barrier generators from in here and see if that can shut them down. Any idea where they are?
EDI: At the moment of activation, I detected a heat spike in what is likely the wreck's mass effect core. Sending you the coordinates now. Be advised, this core's mass effect field is also maintaining the reaper's altitude
Thorne: So when we take the kinetic barrier down to escape, this thing is gonna fall into the planet's core
Joker: And that means everyone dies. Yeah, got it
Shepard: If any helmsman can pull this thing off before it reaches crush depth, it's you. We'll make a sweep for survivors and recover what data we can. Standby
Joker: Aye aye. Good hunting
(Everyone heads down the hall and onto a catwalk separating the door from a platform)
Shepard: Got some bodies up here
Jack: Gross
Thorne: What a mess
Grunt: Anyone else hungry?
