(Joker docks the Normandy on a planet called Illium)
(Shepard, Thorne, Garrus, Grunt, and Galahad are deployed onto the ground. Everyone else is on standby)
(As the five men step out of the ship, they are met by an asari named Careena and a couple of security mechs)
Careena: Welcome to Nos Astra, Commander Shepard. We've been instructed to waive all docking and administration fees for your visit. My name is Careena. If you need information about the area, it would be my pleasure to assist you
Thorne: A free pass?
Shepard: Who instructed you to waive the fees?
Careena: The order came from Liara T'Soni, one of Nos Astra's most respected information brokers. She has paid all fees on your behalf
(Shepard and Thorne's eyes widen)
Careena: She also asked that I direct you to speak with her as soon as possible. She's near the trading floor. She is looking forward to seeing you
(Shepard and Thorne look at each other and nod)
Careena: Welcome to our city. And please, enjoy your stay
EDI: Customs records indicate a justicar named Samara is visiting this port. Your former teammate Liara T'Soni may have more information. Her office overlooks the trading floor. You may also wish to speak with Liara regarding the whereabouts of Thane Krios, the assassin on your dossier
Thorne: Noted
Shepard: Thank you, EDI
Galahad: An asari justicar and an assassin?
Grunt: This is gonna be fun
(An asari walks up to Shepard)
Asari: Excuse me. Are you Commander Shepard?
Shepard: Yes, I am
Asari: I saw your... I guess you would say your "aura". I'd recognize you anywhere
Shepard: Have we met?
Asari: No. But I was asked to give you a message if I saw you. It's from a friend you made on Noveria
Shepard: I'm listening
(The asari's eyes roll back, only revealing the whites of her eyes)
Asari: Shepard. We hide. We burrow. We build. But we know that you seek those who soured the songs of our mothers. When the time comes, our voice will join with yours. And our crescendo will burn the darkness clean. Thank you, Shepard. The rachni will sing again, because of you
(The asari's eyes go back to normal)
Asari: The rachni are an amazing species, Shepard. The galaxy owes you a great debt for giving them a second chance
Shepard: Thank you for the message. I'm glad my friend on Noveria is doing well
Asari: Be well, Commander Shepard. You will not hear us again
(While Shepard is talking to the rachni thrall, Thorne encounters an old acquaintance named Gianna Parasini)
(But then, as Shepard is walking by, an asari shoves him)
Asari: You! You Shepard?
Shepard: Yes-
(The asari slaps Shepard right in the face, which is a bit nonsensical since he's wearing his helmet)
