Eliza was down in the kitchen and she gives me a once over.

"Where are you going?" She says with a mocking smile on her face and I wave her off.

"Damon's dragging me to this thing. You should come." I say, liking the idea more if she were there, but she just scoffs.

"Hard pass. If Damon wants you there, there has to be a reason."

"Says who?" I say, narrowing my eyes.

"Is there?" She counters and my shoulders deflate.

"I think so. I'm mainly going to make sure he doesn't try to kill Elijah again, since that's going to end badly, and not for Elijah." That makes her chuckle.

"It's kind of funny. How Damon is relatively safe from Elijah only because of Elena," she says and I nod.

"Believe me, the irony isn't lost on me." I fill up a glass of water and drink it quickly. "Can you pass me a blood bag?" She throws it to me and I walk back up the stairs, sipping on the straw. I follow Eliza into her room. I sit on her bed cross-legged and shake my head at the pants she pull out.

"It's too cold for that," I say and she rolls her eyes playfully.

"In case you forgot, you turned me a few years ago, so that won't be a problem." She says sassily and it was now my turn to roll my eyes.

"It's not you I'm worried about, idiot. All day grannies will come up to you asking if you're from the west coast or if you're cold. Trust me, I'm saving you." She chuckles, picking out a pair of jeans instead.

"You know what I'm going to do?" She says, a suddenly determined tone in her voice. "I'm going to drive out to Richmond and get my hair and nails done. It's so long overdue."

"Yeah, that's a good idea," I say looking down at my nails, having had them done when we were in Richmond for all the furniture, while Eliza had opted to re-do her whole makeup regime.

Eliza's phone rings, and I see that it's Caroline's contact before she picks up.

"Hey, what's up?" She says and I don't bother listening in, and just go for sipping on my blood. "Uh, wouldn't you want Ror for witchy stuff?" She says after a few seconds, and since I'm nosy, my name was all the incentive I needed to listen in.

"Well, I would have thought after last night she might want a bit of a break." I hear Caroline say and Eliza chuckles.

"I think that same logic could be used on you," she says and Caroline just sighs.

"You don't have to come, though the extra woman-power would be appreciated," she says.

"Where are you?" Eliza sighs, backing down easily.

"The Grill. I'm with Bonnie and Jeremy's on his way."

"I'll be there in half an hour." She says and hangs up. "There goes my plan of pampering myself all day." She says, slumping her shoulders as she continues to look for an outfit.

"You could've said no," I point out but she waves me off.

"Whatever. I'll just go tomorrow or something." She said and I scoff.

"Ha, fat chance. I reckon we'll have to go to war against fairies tomorrow, knowing this town." I say and she laughs.

"Or dragons," she adds and I chuckle.

"Why have I never been here?" A new voice says. I turned around and see that Damon had let himself in and was looking around. "Your house is bigger than ours."

"Jealous?" I say and he just chuckles.

"Not in the slightest honey, but we need to go." He says, holding out an elbow. I take it happily and walk out with him.
