DETERIORATE

EVERYTHING SEEMED DARKER in this version of Irina's memory. And particles floated about in the air, but Irina hadn't noticed them at first because of the rain. She turned to face the restaurant and saw that the door matched the one to the Creel house.

"You can't hide from me, Irina." She heard Vecna's voice coming from somewhere followed by the ticking of the clock. In response, Irina just thought of her happy memories. The ones with Steve. El. Hopper. Dustin. All of her friends. Her family.

"You don't think I see what you're doing?" Vecna asked. "You think I don't see everything? You thought you could trick me?"He almost taunted her now. Just then Irina's mind was flooded with bad things as she closed her eyes. Things that were happening now. Steve and Lucas at gunpoint. Robin and Nancy held up by vines. Eddie and Dustin with the bats. She saw demodogs fighting Joyce, Murray and... Hopper and uncle Enzo. Irina's face morphed into panic, now confused and fearing the worst was happening.

"No." Irina fretted.

"You thought your friends could stop me?" Vecna kept going. "I see them. I see your friends. Just as clearly as I see you. I can feel them dying." He said and Irina's eyes shot open. "It's time."

The music from Steve's car was slow and distorted and Irina looked over her surroundings to spot the best place to run.

"It's time, Irina." Vecna repeated, but sounded much closer now. Irina spun around and came face to face with him. He lifted his hand and Irina went flying back until she hit the outside wall of the restaurant, making her cry out in pain. Vecna slowly walked towards her and Irina felt her throat closing up.

"Listen, Jason. We call him Vecna. He lives in another dimension. That's why you can't see him." Lucas attempted to explain their situation while Steve's eyes stayed on Irina in fear.

"And Eddie Munson and his... his Hellfire acolytes. You all summoned this Vecna?" Jason questioned, still holding his gun high.

"No, man, you're not listening!" Steve snapped.

"There's no cult! There never was!" Lucas established.

"You expect me to believe that?" Jason scoffed.

"It's the truth!" Lucas defended.

"Then why was Chrissy at Eddie's trailer?" Jason challenged.

"She was buying drugs!" Lucas exclaimed.
