Chapter 15

"A little too late for that." Isaac replied.

"Wait what? What happened?" I asked.

"I took him to a family dinner and mom and dad got pissed off, Aman, Esha we're fine with it and surprisingly Khushi tried to calm them down even though she was mad but Meera was not helping, she got mad too." Ravi said.

"Did they do anything to you guys?" I asked.

"Not really, just some mean words and then we left." Isaac said.

"Oh sorry you had to um go through that." I replied.

"At least I didn't have to do it alone so I think that was better." Ravi stated awkwardly.

"Yeah." I replied as an uncomfortable silence fell over us.

"Well their just as bad as you said they were. Absolute assholes." Isaac said to lighten the mood.

We all laughed a bit before ordering food, we started casual conversation before eating our food and then saying our goodbyes. By time I was done Reyna had called me to pick her, she didn't seem upset over the phone but I guess we'll see. She got in the car quickly and wiped a few tears from her face.

"What did they say?" I asked softly.

"Just some shit about missing the 'old me' obviously the person I was before I transitioned and then deadnaming me, Vera tried to stop them but they didn't listen to her much so I left before things got messy." She said as her voice broke a bit.

"Oh Reyna, it's ok, you don't need them, next time you go over for funeral stuff I'll go with you ok?" I replied.

"Yeah, ok." She said.

We fell into a comfortable silence with just the radio playing, when we got home Reyna immediately rushed to her room, but I didn't blame her, I would want to be alone now too. I had about an hour before my date with Ivy so I decided to curl my hair. I went to my bathroom and played music while curling my hair. About half way through I got a notification.

Ivy: Hey I have some extra work stuff so I'm gonna be late
Priya: How late?
Read 5:23pm

God damnit why does she keep doing this. I continued curling my hair because I wasn't going to do just half but about 5 minutes later I got another notification.

Ivy: Idk maybe like an hour, just cancel the reservation we can have takeout at my place. I'll pick you up at 7
Priya: Ok

Was she trying to avoid me? I felt silly sitting there still curling my hair, when I was done I cancelled our reservation but my voice had been breaking so much that even the person over the phone asked if I was ok. After hanging up I tried not cry as I didn't wanna ruin my makeup. I didn't even know why I was so upset over such a small thing.

7:00 got here sooner then I had expected, I heard a knock on my door and told Reyna that I probably wouldn't come back tonight. I opened the door and saw Ivy standing there in her 'work uniform' it was just her leather jackets, black jeans and a white button up.

"Sorry about the restaurant, I just had so much work." She said, I could tell she was tired by the dark circles around her eyes.

"S'ok let's just go to your house." I replied as I closed the door behind me.

The drive was quiet, borderlining on awkward so I decided to turn on the radio. Ivy looked so focused on the road. We quickly stopped at a Indian takeout place near her house, the one she knew was my favourite. When she got back in the car with the food I could already smell how good it was.

We got back to her apartment soon after that. She set down her stuff and headed right towards the couch with the food. She turned on the tv and asked me,"What would you like to watch?"

"Maybe '10 things I hate about you' I really like that movie." I replied.

"Ok." She said before turning it on.

We sat quietly and watched the movie while eating, after we were done eating the movie still had about half way to go. I got really invested even though I had seen the movie a bajillion times already. The movie was almost done but when I looked at Ivy she had fallen asleep. I sighed before turning off the tv. I nudged her awake.

"C'mon Ivy, let's go to sleep." I whispered.

"Mm ok." She replied half asleep.

I led her toward her room and urged her to change her clothes, I helped her a bit since she was so tired. I didn't bother with brushing her teeth but when we laid down I smelled the alcohol on her breath.

"Did you drink Ivy?" I asked, did she ditch me to get drunk?

"Mm yeah, it was for work though." She smiled with her eyes still closed.

"How was it for work?" I asked angrily.

"Please don't get mad, I didn't mean to make you upset. My boss said I had to do it." She frowned before reaching her hands up towards my face.

"I am mad." I replied frustratedly.

"Please don't be, I don't like it when your upset." She said, her eyes were open now and she looked as though she was gonna cry.

I sighed before replying,"M'not mad, let's just talk in the morning ok?" I said softly.

"Ok, goodnight babe." She smiled and closed her eyes again.

She wrapped her arms around my waist from behind me, I tried to sleep but I was too anxious to. Eventually I dozed off in her comfortable embrace.

Hiiii! I actually had no motivation to post but then I got on and saw like 11 notifications that someone voted, so thank you so much to that person!! Also I don't like seeing Priya and Ivy upset so now I'm getting upset :( anyways I rly have nothing to say so bye bye!
