Chapter 5

It was finally the start of my shift. The day felt so long, I thought it would never end. I was really excited though, I get to see Ivana again for the second time today.

I kept looking at the door every time I heard it open to see if Ivana would walk in. But with every person who came I kept getting more disappointed at the fact that it wasn't her.

"Are you looking for someone?" Ren asked knowingly, causing me to turn my head around from the door.

"I-um no I'm not, the noise of the door is just uhm distracting?" I replied, questioning myself at the excuse.

"Yeah sure, you keep telling yourself that." Ren said while walking away chuckling.

I grumbled but then the door opened again and I turned around quickly to see who it was. I was startled by the fact that it wasn't Ivana but my brother again. I was confused at why he would come back after seeing me here.

He was still with those same friends. But they didn't seem like the type of people he would normally hangout with, they looked like bad news, and god forbid the 'golden boy' hangs around bad people.

They sat down at the bar right in front of me. Great, now I have to be around my brother and have no Ivana here. This night could not get worse.

It's been about an hour and Ivana isn't here. Also my brother and his friends are very loud people. They constantly talk, yell, their all extremely drunk, and they've started trying to flirt with me. I wanna throw up, why couldn't I have just fainted today instead.

But just then Ivana finally came through the door. I was grinning like crazy when I saw her and started waving to her. My brother turned around to see who it was and kind of just looked straight back, it was kind of weird. She sat down right next to them and smiled back to me.

"I'm guessing you'll have a coke?" I said still smiling at her, I felt a lot safer with her here than before when they were trying to flirt with me.

"You know me so well." She replied while grinning.

I quickly got the coke ready and gave it to her, but then I heard someone yelling at me.

"Hey what do we have to do to get some more shots over here! Your service is shit!" One of my brother's friends yelled at me. I visibly flinched a little bit. I hated when people shouted.

They all started laughing when I flinched, except for my brother he just sat there with a straight face.

"You know you can be a little nicer, she could spit in your drinks whenever she wants ya know." Ivana said calmly before sipping her coke. He looked ready to hit her.

"It's ok, I can get you the shots right away." I said panicked. I didn't want anyone to get hurt.

Ivana looked a little upset when I didn't react much. I give them their shots and they left a little while later. Ren looked at me sympathetically afterwards from across the bar.

"Why'd you let them talk to you like that?" Ivana asked.

"I didn't wanna cause any conflict, especially since one of them was my brother." I replied

"You have a really shitty brother if he lets people talk to you like that." She said.

"Yeah we don't actually talk much anymore after I got kicked out for being lesbian." I said, hoping she wouldn't respond with something homophobic.

"What an asshole, what's his name? I'll beat him up for you." She replied not even reacting to the fact that I was gay.

"His name is Ravi, but you don't have to beat him up." I said.

"I was only joking, I'm not trying to actually get arrested." She replied before finishing off her coke and putting down a $20 bill again.

"Oh ok, but you don't need to leave $20, it's too much for just one coke." I said, sometimes it gets hard for to recognize if someone is being serious or not.

"It's fine, I don't mind giving you an extra tip, I like you." She said which made me blush a little.

"thank you." I replied softly.

"Your welcome." She said before walking away.

Before I knew it my feet were leading me right towards her in a surge of confidence.

"Do you wanna go out to dinner with me?" I asked hopefully.

"Sure, what about Saturday at the restaurant next to the beach, afterwards we can get ice cream and walk by the beach." She smiled.

"Uhm yeah I'll make reservations for 6:30pm." I said before smiling back.

"Ok I'll see you there then." She said before walking out of the door.

Oh my god, did I just get a date with her? Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god. Before I knew it I was panicking about what I was going to wear, how I was going to do my hair and if I should get my nails done.

But before I could fully think that through Jen, Callum, Isaac, and Andie came rushing towards me with grins on their faces.

"Did you just get a date with her?" Isaac asked excitedly.

"I think so." I replied still a little shocked.

They all started congratulating me and squealing about my 'first date in forever.'

"I can't believe little miss Priya finally asked someone out first." Andie said

"I'm going to choose out your whole entire outfit, we're all going to your house tomorrow and we're going to pick stuff out, tell Noor and Reyna to be there." Jen said.

"1 I can ask anyone out whenever I want, as I just did, 2 yes please I'm literally going to be a disaster at picking out my own outfit." I replied.

We spent the rest of the night gushing about the date and sometimes actually doing what we needed to be doing. Ren tried to be mad at us but he was just as happy at the fact that I got a date. After work I drove home spending the whole ride excited to tell Reyna about my date.

When I got home I saw Reyna cuddling Cora on the couch while watching criminal minds.

"Reyna guess what." I said excitedly.

She paused the show and then replied,"what, and this better be good because your wasting my precious time before I have to go to sleep and go to classes in the morning ."

"It is good, I just got a date with Ivana." I said smiling.

"Who's Ivana?" She asked.

"The girl who I fainted on at the bar, you know the one we talked about at the restaurant the other day." I replied.

"Oh my god, good job!" She squealed.

"I know right." I said,

"What are you gonna wear?" She asked.

"Well Jen said that we should invite everyone here tomorrow and we should all choose." I replied.

"Ok I'll go tell Noor, I'm so proud of you." She said while smiling at me

"Thank you, now I'm going to go to bed and try to sleep even though I'm probably going to be to excited to." I said.

"Ok goodnight." She replied, already on the phone with Noor.

I got changed and got into bed, I attempted sleeping but couldn't stop thinking about my date, I was so excited that I think I fell asleep still smiling at the thoughts running through my mind about what could happen.

I kind of really like this chapter, like a lot. Also idk if anyone remembers but Cora is their cat. I really have nothing else to say except that I actually finished my project before writing this so ha I'm a good student. But if I don't get an A I'm gonna cry.
