I thought as I sat in my home office. I rubbed my temple, trying to make this never ending headache disappear. The dull throbbing was persistent. Maybe it would be better when my son and "wife" were back under my roof instead of being in the hospital. For the past four days I was constantly running between home and the hospital, and it was starting to take a toll.

I had been spending my mornings at the hospital which proved to be the perfect time to get updates from the doctor and spend time with my son. A routine was quickly established that allowed me to leave everyday after lunch because Nicolas and his nanny (in my mind it helped by giving this woman the title of nanny) were ready for a nap, so it was the perfect time to slip out for a couple hours without being missed. I usually arrived before anyone woke up and if I wasn't busy I would spend the night.

They had moved to my personal floor shortly after I gave the orders to the doctor and it didn't matter if I was there or not, that floor was locked down with only certain doctors and nurses having access. Security was heightened with my best men standing guard on all access points of the floor and of the room where Nicolas was. His safety was my top priority.

Today I was meeting with Valentino. He was supposed to be briefing me about what he found out about the accident, if there were any leads on finding Isabella and if he found out the real identity of the woman caring for Nicolas. And as usual that fucker was late. I slammed another bourbon as I waited and tapped my fingers on my desk.

I heard footsteps coming from the hallway. I looked up to see the door opened by Valentino. Fucking finally. That asshole better not smell like booze or pussy, or I would really lose it.

"About time you got here! I think you forgot you are on my time, not yours!" I scowled.

"Jesus, man! Give me a fucking break. I've been busting my ass, getting you all the information you asked for." Valentino responded as he approached the bar and poured himself a scotch. He quickly swallowed it and approached me at my desk. He threw a folder at me.

"Here this should put a smile on your face." He said.

I scoffed but picked up the thick folder. I could see multiple color coordinated post it notes sticking out of the folder. Well that was an expected surprise. Maybe I would be impressed.
