Chapter 20-Attempt to Kill

Isabella's POV
I regained my consciousness as the sound of beeps and machines rang through my ear pounding my head

I made a sound of annoyance as i opened my eyes to adjust to my surroundings

The first thing i saw was me on a bed with so many wires around my hand and passing through it

"You're finally awake" A person beside me spoke and i tilted my head a little to see the person

Cole passed me a heart melting smile and i smiled back at him relieved.

"What happened to me?" I ask him as i look around the hospital room and then back at myself

"Your readings are very low. You had a loss of energy and you drank a lot of alcohol on an empty stomach so it all just kind of added up" he said removing his glasses and looking at me

I bit my lips as i recalled the past couple of hectic days

"When can i leave?" I ask him and he looks at me as if he was already done with me

"Not until tomorrow" he said more of a command and i kept quiet

He was so angry that I didn't want to say something to him

"I'll be here in the hospital until night then i will come to you so i can stay here for the night" he said in a calm voice and i nodded

He was so worried about me that i felt bad for troubling everyone like that

"Just rest" he said then left

I soon fell asleep from all the tiredness and didn't wake up until 7 in the evening

I woke up to some ruffling around me and opened my eyes

I saw a man around the door with his back turned to my sight. He was wearing an all black outfit and it made me nervous

"Cole is that you?" I tried to speak through my fear but the person didn't respond

Instead he turned around to look at me and my  breath hitched in my throat as i looked at his appearance

I couldn't see his face since he was wearing a cap and a mask. I could only see his eyes.

He walked towards me and i opened my mouth to shout but he placed a hand on my mouth preventing me to do so

Cold sweats started forming on my forehead as i tried to break free but his grip around my mouth tightened and a tear fell off my eye

I can't be dying right now

I held the person's arm in an attempt to shout but the person didn't move.

My heart started beating faster as my breathing started to faint and my vision started to black out

The person removed his hand from my mouth as i regained my strength and i painfully held his hand as i shouted loudly for help

The person broke free from me panicking and ran outside the door

I breathed heavily as i looked around me and pulled the blanket over myself.

"ISABELLA" Cole ran to me opening the door and tears started to well up in my eyes

"Someone broke in" i spoke almost inaudible and he pulled me closer to him

"But the guard outside, where is he" he spoke to himself and i looked at him

"What guard?"

"Nicholas asked a guard to be outside your door for security reasons" he said and i nodded

"I need Nicholas to be here right now" i told Cole and he quickly dialed Nicholas

In only a matter of time, Nicholas ran through the doors and i looked at him in worry

"What happened?" He asked Cole who told him everything

"Isabella" he said softly after listening to the story and my eyes met his. He walked over to the bed and sat beside me as he moved hair away from my face and i looked at him

"Nicholas the person had the same spider tattoo those people described" i whispered to him holding him tightly and his eyes turned cold

His face went from expressionless to extremely cold and angry.

"We need to get you out of here, now"
