Damon's mind

Tires screeched, an engine revved, and a car could be heard crashing into water.

"Elena?" Ariana shook Elena, but she wouldn't wake up, making Ariana worried. There was a gash on the side of Elena's head from where her head collided with the car window. She shook her again. "E, wake up! Please, wake the hell up!" Then, hearing the splashing sound of movement in the water, Ariana looked to the driver's seat to see that her dad was trying to get the car started. She started to panic, watching as the water splashed around her waist. "Dad?! Dad!"

"We're gonna be okay. I promise." Dad reassured her. Ariana's mom was unconscious in the passenger's seat, also being knocked out from the crash of our car colliding with the strong waves under Wickery Bridge.

"Dad!" She cried out as the water got increasingly higher very fast, now reaching Ariana's neck.

"The car went off the bridge. Sheriff, we found the fourth victim."

"Was it an accident?"

"That doesn't look good." Damon appeared, eyeing the scene on wickery bridge as he listened to what the officer's told eachother.

"We'll need to drag the river."

"Four bodies recovered."

"Confirm three fatalities, one survival. Survivor is shown to be Elena Gilbert, and the fatalities are Grayson, Miranda... and Ariana Gilbert."

"That's so sad." Sybil then suddenly appeared beside Damon. "Did you know her?"

"No, I never met her." Damon responded, eyeing the body bag where Ariana's body lay.

"Guess now you never will." Sybil sighed with fake sadness and sympathy.

Caroline was peacefully sleeping, a stunning engagement ring resting on her ring finger. As she awoke, she smiled and turned over in the bed, expecting to be met with Stefan, her soon-to-be husband. But instead, she was met with two friends of hers: Skylar and Bonnie.

"Surprise!"

"Guys, what the..." Caroline laughed as she sat up.

"You are engaged, and we are celebrating!" Bonnie giggled.

"First, we're gonna drink too much champagne. And then, Bon and I are taking you wedding dress shopping. I know it's a little early, but you're gonna try on thousands of dresses before you find the perfect one, so we may as well start now!" Skylar grinned happily. Caroline looked around as if she was still processing the environment around her.

"Guys, look, I love you, and this is amazing... but Sky, you don't have to put on a happy face for me right now."

"I'm not putting it on. I'm not, I'm happy for you. I promise." Skylar smiled genuinely. "Caroline, I'm happy for you. I swear!" She then popped open a champagne bottle. The cork hit the wall and all three girls laughed.

"Okay, but I promise we are going to find Enzo and you two are gonna be happy and you're gonna get married on top of the Eiffel Tower." Caroline told.

"Thank you." Skylar smiled again.

"First things first, planning your June wedding." Bonnie cut in, making Caroline very excited.

"Oh, my God. Yes! The June wedding!"
