Chapter Twenty: Serene's POV

My lips parted when I saw Callisto infront of my house, his face was full of many emotions, he was standing there while the rain was pouring heavily.

"Callisto?" I called softly.

He swallowed the lump of his throat looking at me, his eyes were bloodshot he was just standing infront of me crying. "Do you love seeing me in pain?" He asked.

My brows furrowed before letting out a heavy sigh holding my head because it was already hurting. I didn't sleep last night. "What are you talking about, Callisto? Go home now." I seriously told him.

Umiling siya at yumuko nang kaunti bago sinipa ang gulong ng kotse niya making me gasped. "Tangina... hindi ko pa rin maintindihan ngayon, kung paano mo ako nakayang iwanan kung kailan kailangan ko nang yakap mo."

Napaawang ang labi ko bago siya nilapitan nabasa na rin ako ng ulan dahil hinila niya ako palapit sakanya at niyakap ako nang mahigpit. "Sabihin mo lang na mahal mo ako iiwan ko lahat, makasama ka lang ulit..." Bulong niya.

"Tama na, Callisto." Tinulak ko siya palayo sa akin habang pumipikit pikit dahil sa ulan na pumapatak sa mukha ko habang pinupunasan ito.

Tinignan niya ako nang malalim bago tumawa nang malakas. "Hindi ko inaasahan na ganito mangyayari sa atin, minahal kita pangalawa sa Diyos, higit sa buhay ko."

Kinagat ko ang ibabang labi ko bago umiling sakanya. "I'm sorry, Callisto. I wasn't strong enough to fight for you, I was afraid that time."

I admit I was a coward back then, I didn't fought for our love... I wasn't ready... until now.

Tumango siya nang kaunti. "Hindi kita kayang patawarin sa ngayon, Serene. I was waiting for you all these years because you told me you would come back into my arms when things are already in the right places."

"Naiintindihan ko, Callisto."

He scoffed in disbelief. "No, you don't understand... I waited for almost six years, and when you finally came back you already moved on from me, that sounds so unfair, Serene." His voice broke.

"I know where you are coming from, but please understand my situation more before telling me all those things... kasi alam ko, Callisto." Pinipigilan ko ang pagiyak ko.

He shrugged. "See? Alam mo na nasasaktan ako, na nahihirapan na rin ako... but you still chose to run away from me." His voice echoed inside my head.

"I didn't run away from you!"

His brows furrowed before his jaw move aggressively which made me clear my throat looking away. I bit my lower lip. "I was scared, Callisto... I lost a child, I lost my grandmother, and seeing you... it doesn't help me!"

He shooked his head and put his arms on his waist before letting out a small chuckle. "I lost my brother, Serene. I lost my child, too... just so you know, hindi lang ikaw ang nawalan, pati ako rin!" He fired back.

His answer made me stepped back, his older brother was already dead... I didn't know, no one told me about it.

"I'm sorry..." Namamaos kong sambit sakanya, wala na ako iba pa na masabi kung hindi 'yon lang.

He scoffed. "What makes that sorry different from all your other sorry's before?"

"Hindi ko alam, Callisto... believe me or not, hindi ko intensyon na saktan ka o kahit sino na malapit sa akin, my grandfather talked to me... he said he will make your life miserable if I keep having a relationship with you!" I yelled.

Umiling siya at umatras nang kaunti, sobrang lakas na ng ulan at kumukulog na ang kalangitan pero nagtatalo pa rin kami hanggang ngayon, walang sumusuko.
