The Promises Of God And Our Response

When we hear the promises of our God we need to know of things God does and things we should do. When God gives us a promise, there is an action, a heart posture we should have connected to it.

An example is this verse:

Psalm 32:8
ESV
8 I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;
I will counsel you with my eye upon you.

We must have a heart of obedience and be teachable, being sensitive to follow the Holy Spirit's leading. To follow the Holy Spirit's leading we must be surrendered and obedient. To do what He says we must be teachable and humble.

Another promise is:

Romans 8:28
NKJV
28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

We are promised all will work out for our good but we need to be people who love God. Jesus said those who love Him are those who keep His commandments. How do we keep his commands?

By meditating on them, actively pursuing to do them and obediently following them.

Matthew 6:33
ESV
33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

To have all things added unto us we need to have a certain focus on seeking the kingdom of God and His righteousness This speaks of your heart, what you know as your focus, what you see as your desire. To be righteous, to see God's kingdom to see God's will be done, to see the advancement of His kingdom. It speaks of your motivation and your desires aligning with the purposes of God, then once your mind is renewed seek these (what you need). God will take of everything as it will be added unto you.

Hebrews 11:6
NIV
6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

To receive God's rewards need to have Faith, believe He exists and be diligent, and consistent in believing God is alive, listens in due time, will deliver etc. To receive the reward of bold faith you need to be persistent, consistent and enduring.

There are many more promises in the bible that if you take time to meditate on, you'll find out the requirements. What I challenge you to do is find some verses or during your Bible study write down any key requirements and
the postures you need to have to see a promise fulfilled.

2 Corinthians 1:20
ESV
20 For all the promises of God find their Yes in him. That is why it is through him that we utter our Amen to God for his glory
