"What's wrong?" Dad asks.

Hey, what's the matter, honey?

"Just tired." I say.

I don't sleep, 'cause when I do

"In the Army, we worked all day and sleep until 3, 4, or 5. What's your excuse?" Dad says.

"I only dream about one person; Charli." I say.

All I dream are dreams of you

"Oh, you're in love with her. I thought you looked at her weirdly." Dad says.

"Yeah, but she dreams about teeth falling out and stuff." I say.

And in yours, you say your teeth are falling out

"How can I sleep when my dreams are about someone that doesn't dream about me or is interested in me?" I ask.

I don't sleep, 'cause when I do
All I dream are dreams of you
And in yours, you say your teeth are falling out

"When I met your mom, it was something like that too. Same with your grandparents. Mine was like nightmares of your mom dying and me not being able to save her." He says.

Nightmares, scary visions all up in his head

"I didn't want to think about that so I would stay up all night. I would be so tired that I would be passing out and feeling terrible. My love for her made me feel different." He says.

All nighters, passing out, feeling brain dead
Boy don't feel himself no more from the start

"She was my best friend so she was always in my life. Those dreams wouldn't go away." He says.

Girl be curving in his line, it's a round of Mario Kart

"Eventually when I told her how I felt, it felt like the world was no longer on my shoulders. Try that. If it doesn't work out, don't beat yourself up. Okay?" He says.

"Yes, sir." I say.

He smiles and I hug him.

Time Skip

"Hopefully I meet someone new at this party." Charli says.

He hates the fact that she needs another bear

"I mean, we could hang. I call you to hang out but you're always busy." I say.

Every time he would hit her up, she act like he never there

"You make me nervous because I like you so much." Charli says.

"Hey!" Dad shouts.

I open my eyes and see dad staring at me. I groan and sit up.

Cold nights, sad hours in the morning

"Ever thought about forgetting your feelings and liking someone else?" Dad asks.

"No, sir." I say.

"You up to try?" Dad asks.

"I guess." I say.

"One of my friends from the army has a daughter. I think you'll like her. I already told her that you'd met her for lunch." Dad says.

"When's that?" I ask.

"15 minutes." Dad says looking at a watch.

I get up and run into the bathroom.

20 minutes later...
