As I listen to Ben, my boss, continue talking about the events that'll be going on this week in the office, I bring my hand up to cover my mouth and yawn. My eyes water and I blink a few times, so it'll go away.
Hopefully, my eyes don't look red or have dark circles around them. Blanca tried her best to cover them up before I left for this meeting.
As soon as I get out of here and back to the mansion, I'm wiping my makeup off, wash my face then I'm heading to bed.
You still need to talk to Rafael about Chicago, Celestina. I curse at my subconscious but also thank them for reminding me. Noticing that Ben has gone off-topic, which happens at every meeting, I look down at my lap and go on my phone to send Rafael a quick message.
Celestina: Can we talk when I get out of this meeting?
Almost immediately he replies which is something that isn't new.
Rafael: Sure.
Rafael: I can pick you up from your office and we can go to that coffee shop we like.
Celestina: I think I've had enough coffee for the morning.
Rafael: Then that bakery five blocks away from the coffee shop?
Celestina: Sounds good. I'll see you soon.
All of a sudden, someone loudly clears their throat in front of me, desperate to get my attention. Crossing my legs, I bring my head up to see Lucas giving me a firm look. "What?" I ask, whispering but making sure my voice is loud enough so that he can hear me.
"Pay better attention, Celestina," he responds.
Breaking eye contact, I look away and roll my eyes before focusing on Ben. As much as I love my job, I need this meeting to be over already so I can meet up with my brother and then head back to sleep because I am currently working on less than five hours of sleep. I need at least eight or nine to function properly.
