Chapter 25

For the past days, naging mas close si Ria sa anak. After the week's event, iniwan na muna niya Kay Cherry ang Opisina with their on-call receptionist.

"Mommy, play bukas Macy again okay?" hinihingal na lapit ng anak sa kaniya.

They are at the subdivision's playground. Bukas na lalabas ang resulta ng DNA test at kahit papaano ay hindi pa nagku-krus ang landas nila ni Ashton. She doesn't know want to say just in case they meet again after what happened at the coffee shop.

Umuwi na ang mag-ina nang sunduin na sila ni Tony at nag dinner sa labas. That night, katabi nilang matulog ang bata.

The morning came and halos hindi mapakali si Ria. It's like judgement day for her. She can't even finish her plate of breakfast. Ngayon din kasi sila magdedesisyon for their parental rights.

Naunang dumating sa ospital silang mag-asawa, halos magkasunod lang sila ng sasakyan ni Ashton. They went directly to the doctor's office to get the result.

"Do you want me to read it or you want to see it yourself?" the doctor asked when they all seemed to be anxious of the result. Tahimik  lang din kasi si Ash, but his constant tapping of his foot on the floor makes a sign.

"Read it doc!" si Tony ang sumagot.

"Well,..." the doctor opened the sealed envelope and scanned the documents inside.

He read some lines but the last line registered to her mind. "99.99 % Matched, Positive!"

Now, they already knew it was Ashton from three years ago. He is Macy's biological father.

"Now that this is finally proven, next is Macy...."

"Can I first see the kid?" putol ni Ash sa sinasabi ni Tony.

I don't have the right to object gayung napatunayan na nilang ito nga ama ni Macy. Napalingon siya sa asawa at Napatango lang ito sa kaniya kasabay ng isang maliit na ngiti.

"She's at the car with her Nanny!" sagot ni Tony sa kaniya.

Nagpaalam na sila sa doctor at tsaka lumabas. Dumiretso sila sa parking Area ng ospital.

Kabang kaba si Ria dahil Hindi niya Alam kung anong gagawin ni Ashton. Will he tell her who is he? Hindi pa nila kinakausap ang bata about this because they don't know how to do it. She's too young for this complicated situation they had.

Naglalaro ang Yaya nito at ang bata sa nakabukas na pinto ng kotse.

"Daddy, Mommy! wait Ako sa car, promise!" Agad na Salubong niya sa dalawa na yumakap pa sa kanila.

Ashton just look at the little girl and plaster a big smile.

"Hi!" masiglang bati nito sa bata at umupo para magpantay sila ng taas.

Nagpalipat lipat ng tingin si Ria sa dalawa.

"Hello!" kumaway pang balik bati ng kaniyang anak, who knew nothing about the guy in front of her.

"I'm Ashton, your Mommy and Daddy's friend. You are?" pakilala nito na parang nakikipagkaibigan lang dito at first meet.

Napatingin ang bata sa mga magulang parang nagtatanong kung pwede niya ba itong kausapin.

"He's asking bout your name sweetie, can you tell him?" Tony urging her to answer which later smile a big smile.

"I'm Macy! Hello!"

"Hello Macy, nice to meet you! Can we be friends too?" Inilahad pa nito ang palad na tinanggap ng maliit na palad ng bata. "You can call me tito Ash!"

"Tito Ash, friend Macy! Yehey!" nagsisisigaw na sagot ng anak at niyakap ang lalaki na yumakap naman dito.

She can't help but shed tears. Ashton was way different from the person he expected he would be. He introduced himself to his child as a friend. He didn't take advantage of the situation, he didn't take her away from her.

She was too happy but at the same time, feeling sorry for Macy's real father.

Ria just hoped that one day he can wait until Macy will understand all of this and be called her father too.
