Lucas and Hendery had been the best of friends for as long as they could remember. Their bond was as strong as steel, forged through countless adventures, shared secrets, and the simple joy of each other's company. They shared many interests, but their greatest shared passion was gaming, particularly PUBG. They spent hours together, conquering virtual battlefields and celebrating victories like they were the champions of the world. The fact that they both spoke Cantonese, their native language, added an extra layer of comfort and understanding to their friendship.

For Hendery, spending time with Lucas was the highlight of his days. His feelings for his friend had slowly evolved over time, like a subtle melody playing in the background of his life. At first, he dismissed these emotions as nothing more than a deep appreciation for their friendship. But as the days turned into weeks, and the weeks into months, he couldn't ignore the truth any longer. He was falling in love with Lucas.

One sunny afternoon, as they settled into their usual routine of gaming, the tension in the air was palpable. Hendery's heart raced, and he couldn't help but steal glances at Lucas, who was entirely engrossed in the game.

"Lucas," Hendery began hesitantly, his voice barely above a whisper.

Lucas didn't take his eyes off the screen but grunted in acknowledgment.

"I... I just wanted to say something," Hendery continued, his fingers fumbling with the controller in his hands. "I... love... playing PUBG with you."

Hendery immediately regretted his choice of words. He had meant to say something else entirely, but the words had slipped out before he could stop them. His heart pounded in his chest as he waited for Lucas's response.

Lucas, too, froze for a moment, his character in the game standing still as he processed what Hendery had just said. Then, slowly, he turned to look at Hendery, his eyes wide with surprise. The silence in the room was deafening.

Hendery's face turned beet red as he realized that he couldn't backpedal or pretend he hadn't said anything. He had to face the truth.

"I... I mean, I love playing games with you, Lucas," Hendery stammered, his gaze fixed on the floor. "You're my best friend, and I cherish our time together."

Lucas continued to study Hendery, his expression unreadable. For a moment, Hendery feared that he had ruined everything, that their friendship was now irreparably damaged. But then Lucas spoke, his voice soft and cautious.

"Hendery, I..." Lucas trailed off, struggling to find the right words. "I love hanging out with you too. You're my best friend, and you mean the world to me."

Relief washed over Hendery. Lucas didn't seem upset or distant; instead, he seemed to share the same emotions. But then, as if a switch had been flipped, Hendery realized that this was his chance, his opportunity to finally admit his true feelings.
