You've got your back turned
And all I can see are the
Falling of your feathers
Your wings have endured
Life, and there's more to come
You have a sky to venture
A purpose to find home;
You're still walking away,
Did I do that damage?
When your feathers are bloodied
And the roses in your eyes sullied
How can you say that you're okay
That you can manage?
I don't know what to do
Maybe I'm just adding up to your hurt
I plucked up your wings
And I gather them in your wake
My hands are red from your blood
But I see blue
You have so much more to do
Why can't you see that's true?
I await your arrival
When your soul is renewed
I'll be left in the earth
You in the sky
The feathers you left
I made arrows of it
I give them to you,
All bow, quill, and quiver
You have the strength
You have your feathers
Leave me and go
With your memories of us
In tow
