Chapter Seven

"Let's hold hands." Bulong ng batang babaeng katabi niya.

Her eyes are blindfolded while she kept on crying. She doesn't know where are they taking her but she knew that she's not safe at all.

Rinig niya ang ingay mula sa elisi ng helicopter at alam niyang lumilipad sila dahil ramdam niya ang kakaibang pagkalula. Ilang saglit pa ay lumapag na sila sa lupa kaya't humigpit ang hawak niya sa katabi. Nang lumakas ang pag-iyak nito ay napasabay na din siya dahil sa takot.

"Stop crying!" Sita sa kanila ng isang babae na kasama nila sa loob. "If you don't stop, I will punish you and you won't like it."

Chills run through her spine. She wanted to scream but she chose not to. She's too scared to even make another sound.

Napatili siya nang pagkabukas ng pinto ay may bumuhat sa kanya. Nagpapalag siya, sumisipa sa ere ngunit balewala lang dahil sa liit ng katawan niya.

Nang inilapag siya sa lupa ay hindi siya gumalaw at pinakiramdaman lang ang paligid habang tahimik na umiiyak. Ilang saglit lang ay tinanggal na ang piring niya sa mata. Hindi niya kaagad maimulat dahil sa sobrang liwanag ng sikat ng araw.

When her eyes adjusted to the light, she saw that several armed men are surrounding them. Then she saw a woman in front of her, she's beautiful but she looks so scary because she isn't smiling at all.

"Now listen to me very carefully, you two." Sabi ng babae kaya't napatingin siya sa katabi. Halatang magkasing-edad lang sila ng batang babae. "I know that you are still unable to understand what is happening here, but you will be enlightened as the day goes by." At saka humakbang palapit sa kanila. "You are among the chosen ones. You both are special and you have a higher purpose that you need to do when you grow up." Ngumiti ito at saka parehong hinaplos ang kanilang mukha. "In this facility, we will train you on how to become the best among the rest. You will not be just ordinary girls, you will be my precious gems." Pagkatapos ay tumingin sa mga armadong lalaki at saka tinanguan ang mga ito. "It's time for them to meet the others."

Marami siyang nakita na mga ibang batang babae na halos hindi naglalayo sa kanyang edad. They are all scared too just like her.

"I want to go home! I want my mommy!" Iyak niya.

"Ssshhhh! Stop crying!" Sita sa kanya ng isa sa mga bata roon. "Or we will be punished!"

Naguguluhan siya sa nangyayari at tila ba wala nang katapusan ang mga tanong niya sa isip. Ni hindi niya matandaan ang sariling pangalan at kung papaano siya napunta sa lugar na iyon.

"Let me out!! Please let me out of here!" Malakas niyang sigaw habang nagwawala nang biglang nagbago ang paligid. Inubos niya ang lakas sa kakakatok sa pintuan, kinakalampag niya  para pagbuksan siya. "I don't want to be in here! I'm scared, please, let me out!"

She is locked in a dark room and she felt suffocated. She can't see a thing and she can only hear the sound of her own breathing and some indescribable noises. She just kept on crying, screaming her lungs out as if someone would help her out. But no one came to aid her, instead, she was given a punishment.

"Put this in mind, 'Twenty-Six', there's no room for weak people here. Only those who are brave enough can survive on this island, so if you don't want to end up dead, you better catch up to your sisters." Wika nung babaeng kinatatakutan niya.

She put her head down to suppress her emotion, trying to hide what she feel. She's just a helpless child and it is not easy for her not to be afraid. When she lifted her head she was surprised when she's in another room again.
