"Meredith, you're okay" Derek was rubbing her back as Alex let Addison and Mark in

"I-I'm okay" She nodded as she held Grace tight in her arms

"It helps when I give mommy kisses, like this" Grace explained tl Derek and placed a kiss on her mother's cheek, shoulder and eventually her casted leg

"I love you, princess" Meredith whispered as she looked ik her daughter's green eyes

Grace looked so much like her mother, in every aspect and Meredith couldn't be more happy that she didn't look like her father

"Mer, are you okay?" Alex asked softly as he saw Grace in Meredith's arms and Derek softly rubbing her back. He smiled slightly as she seemed to trust him enough to actually touch her. So far it was only Addison and himself

"I'm okay" She nodded but kept looking at Grace. The little girl's smile made her heart warm

"Hi Meredith. Can Mark and I take a seat?" Addison softly asked

"Y-Yeah" Meredith answered

"How have you been doing?" Addison softly asked

"Fine" Meredith nodded softly

"And how are you, princess?" Addison smiled at the little girl

"I'm mommy's doctor" Grace giggled

"You are?" Addison smiled and Grace nodded firmly

"She's the best" Meredith quietly spoke up

"Gracie, do you want to help me in the kitchen? Make some coffee and something to snack" Alex suggested as he knew Addison wanted to talk to her

"I'm gonna help you two" Mark nodded and followed them to the kitchen

"Meredith, Matt showed up at the hospital yesterday, he was completely drunk" Addison started carefully "He was searching for you and Grace"

"Oh-" Meredith breathed softly

"Meredith, I think you should go to the police" Addison gently laid her hand down on the blonde woman's leg

"I- But?" Meredith was lost

"We will be there with you" Addison promised

Meredith's breathing started to become laboured as she was scared for a confrontation about Matt

"Alex said you and Grace can stay here in his house" Addison said "you will be safe"

"He's taking Grace away from me. I'm a bad mother, I can't take care of them" She whispered

"Meredith, what happened with Hope isn't your fault" Addison sighed

Derek's eyes widened slightly. He hated to see that Meredith blamed herself

"I should have kept her safe.." Meredith sighed

"Meredith, please.." Derek spoke up "This isn't on you"

Meredith nodded as she didn't wanna continue to talk about it. Her mind was racing

"Mommy, coffee!" Grace yelled as she ran in while holding tight onto a box full of cookies "And uncle Alex said we could have some of these!" The little girl showed the box to her mom before placing it on the table and climbing in next to Meredith

"I love you, Gracie" Meredith chuckled at the excitement of her daughter

"I love you too mommy. You're so silly. I love you lots and lots!" She giggled when Alex' phone started ringing. He moved to the kitchen to pick up his phone

"Gracier, baby. Can you show Addison, Mark and Derek what uncle Alex taught you?" Meredith smiled

"Look!" Grace smiled and started doing a magician trick she had learned from Alex a few days ago

"Wow Grace! That's cool!" Mark smiled, "Can you teach me how to do it?"

"I don't know" Grace looked at her feet, instantly getting nervous

"It's okay. Alex won't be angry if you tell Mark" Meredith rubbed her daughter's back

"Are you sure? He won't yell?" Grace quietly asked which made the three others' hearts break

"I'm very sure" Meredith nodded

"I don't know" Grace sighed

"It's okay, you don't have to" Mark assured her and the little girl seemed to smile a little more

"Mer, I need to talk to you" Alex walked back in

"Why don't I take this brave young girl to the kitchen because I want more cookies. Can you show me where they are?" Mark said

"Uncle Alex, can Mark have more cookies?" Grace asked

"Of course Gracie. Show him where the good cookies are" Alex rubbed her back before sitting next to Meredith

"Mer, Matt showed up again at the hospital. Completely drunk and he even hit someone. A nurse told him my adres, he's probably on his way here" Alex informed her

"N-No" She stuttered "G-Grace? Grace!" She started yelling for her daughter

"Mommy, look! These are your favourites" Grace ran back in

"Gracie, come to me please" Meredith whispered and Grace did so. The little girl climbed in her mother's arms but didn't ask questions

"It will be okay, we're staying here" Addison held onto Meredith's good shoulder

"Derek, Mark, can you two help me for a minute?" Alex asked as he saw Meredith completely zoning out, her arms tight around her little girl

"Of course" The two men nodded

"Okay, I'll lock all the doors and windows. There's no way he can get in here. Richard called the police, they should be on their way too but we need to get her out of here afterwards. She won't feel safe anymore

"We live in the same building. She could come with us. There will always be someone at home with her and Grace" Derek spoke up

"I agree and I'm sure Addison wouldn't mind either" Mark nodded

"She was close to going to the police and telling them. I hope she will soon so that piece of shit will be behind bars for years and years" Alex sighed

"I don't understand how he could hurt Grace or Meredith" Derek said

"Me neither" Alex locked the last window before they heard the doorbell ring. They moved back to the living room where Meredith, Grace and Addison were sitting

"It will be okay" Addison kept rubbing Meredith's back

"Mommy loves you baby" Meredith kept whispering in Grace's ear

"I love you lots and lots mommy" Grace giggled, not knowing what was happening

"Why don't you take a nap? So we can show our guests some more tricks later on" Alex told Grace who nodded in agreement but got disturbed by the bell that kept ringing
