"Matt, you can't go in like that" Meredith hopped around after him

"I can't call in sick!" He raised his voice

"Call them, tell them I'm in pain because of my shoulder and go to sleep. Once you're sober you can head in" Meredith tried to find a solution for him

"Yeah.." He sighed and grabbed his phone and moved to his office

Meredith went over to Grace who was playing in the living room

"Hey mommy" The little girl smiled

"Hi princess" Meredith limped inside

"Here mommy" Grace grabbed Meredith's hand and helped her to the couch "Alex said you should rest but you're walking around" Grace said sternly

"I'm resting now" Meredith winked and lifted her heavily casted leg onto a pillow

"Good" Grace giggled but stopped as she heard her dad walking back inside

"I'm going to bed now. Can you wake me in a few hours?" He asked

"Yeah, that's good. Goodnight" She softly smiled

"Night daddy" Grace quietly said

"Night" He replied and walked off to his room

Meredith closed her eyes for a minute and had dozen off

"Baby, you really need to stop kicking so hard" Meredith laughed as she was rubbing her swollen stomach

"Kick?" Grace frowned "Kick no good!"

"Kicking is very good for a baby that's inside their mommy's belly. Do you wanna feel your sister?" Meredith asked

"Can I?" Grace gasped

"Of course honey" Meredith smiled and carried Grace over to the couch

Meredith lifted up her shirt and placed Grace's little hand on the spot where she felt her unborn daughter kick

"Wow" Grace giggled "Huwts?"

"It sometimes hurts a bit but it will get smaller and smaller in there for her" Meredith winked

"Oh" Grace looked fascinated at her oldest daughter

"Come on sweetheart, we have to go to the hospital" Meredith stood up and helped to get Grace dressed before they drove off to the hospital "Stay close to mommy, honey" Meredith said as she helped Grace out of the car

"Mommy?" She woke up by Grace shaking her

"Oh honey, thanks for waking me" Meredith smiled and looked at the time. Two hours had passed since Matt went up for bed so she would go wake him up so he could go to work, at least being sober now

Meredith pushed herself up on her feet and climbed the stairs to wake up Matt

It had been half an hour since Matt had left for the hospital and Meredith and Grace decided to watch a movie when she heard the doorbell ring. She hopped over to the front door and opened it

"Doctor Shepherd?" She frowned

"Derek" He smiled "Meredith, are you okay? What happened to your leg?" He frowned

"Oh-" Meredith completely forgot "It's from when I fell down the stairs, my leg started to hurt later on" She tried to talk herself out of it

"Can I help with anything?" He asked when Grace showed up

"Hi!" She smiled

"Hi Grace. How are you?" Derek kneeled down as he asked the little girl

"Good! I'm helping mommy" She explained

"That's very nice of you! You're being mommy's personal doctor?" He smiled

"But mommy's not listening!" Grace frowned "She keeps walking around"

"Doctor Grey" Derek laughed "You aren't listening to your doctor"

"I am, I'm just a bit busy and with Grace and stuff-" She explained when Alex drove onto her porch

"Oh god, Meredith!" He gasped as he saw her which caused a frown on Derek's face "You weren't picking up your phone"

"Oh, I must have left it somewhere" She apologised

"Derek" Alex smiled

"Alex" Derek smiled in return "Oh- Meredith, I brought you these" He smiled "just some food you know" He smiled but noticed there was no way she could hold them with her arm in the sling "Can I?" He asked and she nodded

"Grace, can you show Derek the way to the kitchen?" Meredith asked and the little girl smiled at Derek before she started leading the way

"Are you okay?" Alex quietly asked as he walked inside

"Yeah" She sighed and started putting pressure on her cast again

"Mer!" He groaned and scooped her up "You can't walk on it!" He rolled his eyes

"There's no other way for me to get around" Meredith sighed as Alex placed her down on the couch

"This big and brave girl showed me the freezer, it's all sorted out" Derek walked back in, holding hands with Grace

"Thanks Gracie" Meredith opened her arm so her daughter could join her "Thanks Derek" She smiled

He had noticed the stitches in her hand and didn't wanna ask her about this

"Derek, do you want anything to drink?" Meredith offered

"That would be nice" Derek smiled but frowned when Meredith stood up "Give me your orders and I'll grab it. Grace will assist me"

"Coffee for me would be nice" Alex softly replied

"Uh- Same" She smiled a bit uncomfortable

"What's on your mind?" Alex asked her

"Nothing" She sighed

"How has he been?" Alex asked

"It's been okay. He was drunk this morning so I let him sleep because he couldn't show up at work being drunk and all" Meredith started telling him "But he was good. We had no issues or whatsoever" She explained to him

"Have you been sleeping okay?" Alex asked her

"I slept on the couch last night with Grace on top of me" She chuckled. "And I slept earlier today but it was quite an uneasy sleep. I had some stupid nightmares"

"Hey, you can always call me, okay?" Alex reminded her

"Thanks" She smiled

"We're here with coffee and apple juice" Derek smiled as he and Grace walked into the living room
