"Thanks Alex" Meredith said as he drove onto her porch with her car. She started to freak out inside as she saw Matt's car

"Seems like your husband is still home" Alex smiled "Is it okay if I wait inside until the cab is here?"

"Of-of course" Meredith forced out a smile and only stepped out of the car because Alex did

"Wait" He said and quickly ran over to help her out

"Thanks" She whispered as she saw Matt standing at the window watching them "Come here Gracie, stay with me"

"Meredith! Grace! What happened?" Matt opened the door

"Hi daddy" Grace quietly said

"I-I fell off the stairs. I'm fine" She softly said as she stayed close to Grace

"Her shoulder is badly sprained so we gave her a sling. She'll be good as new in a bit" Alex laughed "Alex, Alex Karev" He shook Matt's hand

"Yeah, I've seen you in the hospital

"Yeah we haven't had the chance yet to really meet each other" Alex said and got a weird vibe

"Come on mommy, I need to take care of you" Grace softly grabbed Meredith's hand and led her inside

"I drove her car, I'm gonna call a cab to get home" Alex said as he got inside

Matt watched Meredith closely as Alex took a seat on the couch over Meredith

"A-Alex, do you want something to drink?" Meredith asked

"No I won't stay long" He smiled

"Matt?" Meredith asked

"Coffee is good" He replied and watched Alex as he called for a cab

Meredith returned with a cup of coffee for Matt, Grace closely following her

"You really have to rest Meredith" Alex said concerned

"Yeah.." She breathed as she sat down with Grace "I'll rest in a bit"

They stayed there in an uncomfortable silence until the cab showed up in front of the house

"I have to go. Goodluck Mer and take care. Bye Grace, bye Matt!" Alex said as he left the house

"Grace, can you go upstairs to the playroom?" Meredith asked and the little girl nodded

"You stupid bitch. Why did you go to the hospital?" He yelled even before Grace properly left the room

"W-We were having lunch, Alex grabbed my shoulder-" She slowly started to explain

"So another man is touching you? Oh Meredith, you're a slut, do you know that?" He spat at her "Your coffee tastes like piss" He threw it over her and she could feel the hot liquid burn on her skin. She was happy it had cooled off a bit since she handed him the coffee

"H-He didn't touch me inappropriate-" She started

"Shut up!" He pulled at her hair so she would stand up and she whimpered as he tightly squeezed her shoulder "I said shut up!" He pushed her on the ground and started kicking her stomach "You worthless bitch"

"Matt, please.. Please, stop" She begged and got saved as his pager went off

"I have to go" He said and walked out of the house

Meredith pushed herself up and quickly locked the door before she collapsed on the ground

"How could you lose our baby?!" He yelled

"I-I'm so sorry" Meredith whispered as tears streamed down her face

"You killed our baby" Matt spitted in her face

"I- D-Dr Montgomery said it was because of my hostile uterus" Meredith tried to explain

"You can't even give me another baby, well great!" He yelled

"Shh, Gracie is sleeping" Meredith quietly said

"Of course! Your little Gracie is sleeping so I have to shut up?" Matt yelled

Meredith got pulled out of her thoughts when Grace brushed her little finger over Meredith's cheeks in a try to wipe the tears away

"Don't cry mommy. I love you lots and lots" Grace kissed her mother's cheek softly

"I-Oh, I have to go shower" She softly said as she tried to push herself up without whimpering but completely failed

"I help, mommy! Alex said I have to help" She smiled

"Thanks you baby" Meredith softly returned a fake smile to not worry her daughter even more

After the shower, Meredith had fallen asleep in Grace's room. She had locked the door, just to be sure, when the doorbell went

"I'll go see who that is" Meredith softly said and pushed herself up

"I'll come with you mommy" Grace grabbed Meredith's hand as they made their way downstairs together

Meredith slowly opened the door which revealed Derek

"Hey, I heard you called in sick, it wasn't because of the patient we lost, right?" He asked concerned

"No.. No" She breathed

"Are you doing okay Meredith? Can I say Meredith?"

"Yeah, Meredith's okay. I'm fine, don't worry" She faked a smile

"Hi" Grace smiled

"Oh hi! I hadn't seen you" Derek smiled

"Thank you a lot for your visit" Meredith said softly, she was scared that her husband would find out, maybe she really is a slut

"Meredith?" Derek pulled her out of her thoughts "What happened?"

"Mommy hurt her shoulder" Grace explained "She fell from the stairs"

"It's okay" Meredith softly smiled

"Are you sure? I can check on you if you want" Derek offered

"It's okay. Alex Karev took a look at it earlier" She quietly said

"Oh okay then" Derek softly smiled "I'll go then, I'll check in with you later if that's okay?"

"That's okay. Thank you" Meredith smiled softly back at him

"Bye Grace, bye Meredith" He waved before he got in his car

"Bye Derek!" Grace giggled

"Bye" Meredith slowly waved with her uninjured arm and watched him drive away
