My eyes shot open as my dreamless sleep halted, the sudden realization of my escape from Jaxon tonight is no longer needed sprung to my mind. I have no clue if Jaxon had informed the village of us being released and no longer ruled over by him because his revenge had been completed and that led me to question whether or not my parents had left to meet me at our selected meeting point of the large tree, sticking to the plan on escaping tonight. I contemplated over in my mind whether or not they would have gone there and eventually, I decided on they would have. They wouldn't have let Ben and I wait at the tree for hours to see if we needed to escape or not.

As I looked around the small bedroom Jaxon had occupied during his seizing of the village, I saw nothing to indicate the time. There was no clock or not even an open window to see how dark it was or if the moon was visible and its placement in the sky to help me get a very rough estimate of the time. I know I have to go to the tree to see my parents but I felt reluctant to do so. Jaxon's arm was draped around my waist and I was pulled flush into his hard body, facing him as he slept.

His brown eyes, so unique they could hold anybody captive, were hidden behind his eyelids and every now and then they fluttered as he dreamed. His eyelashes are considerably long for a male and stayed a pitch black like the colour of his hair from one end to the other as they were only a millimeter away from resting on his cheek. Small puffs of air from his even breathing hit my forehead as they fell from his parted lips at a steady pace indicating his deep sleep. I couldn't help but keep admiring his face properly for the very first time of knowing him. His skin looked slightly dried out but it was clean, no freckles, birthmarks moles or anything. It was just a tanned, blank canvas that never held any emotion and always stayed the same colour as he never blushed or got sunburnt from what I've seen.

I sighed, not wanting to get up from the comfort. The mattress was a soft one and the pillows were flush and plump. Added with the buzzing that naturally came from touching Jaxon in any way it was as comfortable as I had felt in a very long time. I mentally counted down from ten seconds in my head, deciding to enjoy the confines of relaxation for a few more seconds before leaving to see if my parents had showed up. As soon as I hit one, I sighed once again (a habit I've tended to pick up ever since I've met Jaxon) and pushed my body gently away from his.

I had no such luck however as his arm tightened around my waist and his arm I was lying on moved up and wrapped around my waist, making no easy escape for me. I couldn't risk him waking up so I peered up at his face to see if he had stirred in his sleep. His eyebrows scrunched together as his grip tightened on me and despite the love hate relationship between the two of us, my heart couldn't help but flutter at his unconscious actions. The thought of him not wanting me to leave even when he is sleeping made me feel wanted.

Putting the wanted feeling aside, I needed a way to get out of the bed without Jaxon waking up. If he saw me leaving him, his temper would burst leading to anger which is something I didn't ever want to deal with again (yet I know that is inevitable). I rolled over in his hold so I was facing the door and placed my hands on top of his. As his grip tightened on me I traced his hands with mine, hoping it felt like a comforting gesture. When his arms relaxed around me, I gently pried his hands from around me, slipping silently out from the bed. His arms automatically reached out for me and I quickly got the pillow I was sleeping on and put it where I originally was. Jaxon took hold of the pillow and pulled it into his body, his weight slightly rolling on top of it as if he was trying to hold it down and prevent it from leaving.
