When he woke up, the night sky outside the window was just as pitch-black as before.

The surrounding messy but familiar furnishings revealed that he was lying on the bed in Jiang Yao’s dorm room, but the person at the bedside was not Jiang Yao.

“You woke up. I’m leaving then.” Yin Ze got up.

Yin Che called out to stop him, “Where’s Jiang Yao?”

“Asking about him the moment you open your eyes, as if I’m nothing more than air?” Like usual, Yin Ze started to burn with rage again.

“You’ve only known each other for just over half a year, but you’ve already told him everything, including telling him about your illness, including telling him about your fear of electricity too. I didn’t even know that you were afraid of electricity, why didn’t you ever tell me? Shouldn’t it be better to confide absolutely in your own di instead of some outsider?”

Yin Che pressed a hand to his forehead, “Can we talk about this later?”

“Later, later, it’s always ‘later’, I can see you’ll never tell me for the rest of your life.”

Yin Che stared at him in startled silence.

Yin Ze turned and walked towards the door. “He called the police and escorted those guys to the police station. It’s already been two hours, so he should be back soon.”

Yin Che snapped out of it. “Oh, I see, thanks. Get some rest.”

Yin Ze opened the door and then stopped with the door knob in his hand, his back turned to him. “Ge, do you know why I never treat you like my ge?

“Because you’ve never considered me to be your didi.”

The door slammed shut with a *bang*, leaving only a long echo behind in the absolutely silent room.

Yin Ze headed for his own room downstairs.

It was late at night, so the lights in all the other rooms were off and continuous snores came from behind the doors, enough to make anyone listening feel annoyed.

As luck would have it, just then he came across the person who annoyed him the most halfway down the hallway.

“Why are you out here? Your ge woke up?”

Yin Ze was at the end of his patience. He pointed towards the stairs, “You come with me.”

In the middle of the night, two alphas sat side by side on the steps, one with anger showing through his disdain, the other with a sneer showing through his indifference, like two mighty, fierce gods.

If someone came up the stairs at this moment, they would be scared to death.

“Are you serious?”

“I’m serious.”

A question without a beginning or end was answered in the same way, yet they both understood.

“But my ge……”

“Your ge has an illness, he’s a beta, he rejects touch, and he has a bad temper – I know all that. Also, don’t even try to throw a million yuan in my face to get me to leave your ge. I don’t lack money.”

“……Fuck your illness,” Yin Ze cursed in a low voice, “My ge has no illness.”

Jiang Yao understood him completely. “Didi, I understand you’re reluctant to admit your proud, frail ge is sick, but having an illness isn’t shameful, it can only be cured by facing it bravely.”
