Chapter 9: Camp classes-Day 1

I woke up the next morning and realized I was late for my 1st camp meeting with the rest of the campers. I found a clean purple Camp Rock counselors t-shirt,clean jean capris, and black converse on the floor by my bed. I took a quick shower, did my morning routine, changed clothes, put my hair in a french braid and put on my red camp director's cap and ran into the mess hall and found everyone there. "Hey guys." I said as I walked to the breakfast bar to eat pancakes and sausage. After I ate and had a bottle of water, I got on the mess hall stage and grabbed a microphone. "All right Rockers, we've got about a few more weeks here at Camp and then we'll be heading to California for the International Final Jam. We need to get to work and fast. If we wanna win, then we have to put all of our energies in this thing if we want to win and save Camp Rock. We may have our doubters but we have each other. Now I believe that we can win this thing,so who's with me?" I asked everyone. The rest of the campers cheered. "All right guys, the class schedules are outside on the bulletin board. So go and sign up for a class that you like and I'll talk to you at the pajama jam tonight. Have a great day guys." I said smiling. "So does everyone have a class schedule for this week?" I asked as I sat down on the table. "Yep. I hope these classes work." Yara said smiling. "Guys, don't worry, they will."I said smiling at them. Yara was wearing a green Camp Rock counselors t-shirt,jeans, and gray converse with her hair in a ponytail. Dana was wearing a orange t-shirt Camp Rock counselors t-shirt, jean shorts, and black converse. Rosie and Caitlyn were wearing dance gear. Rosie was wearing a blue tank top, baggy gray sweatpants and pink and gray high tops. Caitlyn was wearing a red tank top, gray leggings, and white sneakers. Their hair was in a ponytail. Ella was wearing a tie-dye shirt, blue skinny jeans, and black converse. Her hair was straightened. Peggy was wearing a pink t-shirt, gray shorts, and white converse. Her hair was in a ponytail. And the connect 3 guys were wearing Camp Rock Counselors t-shirts,faded blue jeans, and black converse. Shane was wearing a green shirt, Nate was wearing a gray shirt and Jason was wearing a blue shirt. After all of the guys and campers left, it was just me and Shane alone in the mess hall. "So how do feel about being in charge, Miss.Ball?" Shane asked me while he held my hand. "It feels good. I get to plan tonight's Pajama Jam." I said smiling as I jotted down some ideas. "That's great. I'm happy for you Nik-Nik." Shane said hugging me. "Me too. Well, you better get ready to teach Mr.Gray." I said poking his side. "Aye Aye, Captain." Shane said saluting to me before leaving. "I hope these classes work." I said smiling to myself. While everyone else was teaching, Brown and Dee came over to his office to check out my jam ideas while I called my friends Austin Moon and his girlfriend Ally Dawson to come and stay with us at camp for a few weeks and help us with the IFJ. Around lunchtime, I decided to take a break from planning for the IFJ and relax by the lake with my songbook. While I was thinking of song ideas for the final jam, I felt two hands cover my eyes. "Guess who, beautiful?" The voice said. "Hey Shane." I said giving him a kiss on the cheek. "So what are you doing over here by yourself?" Shane asked me as he put his arm around me. "Trying to think of song ideas for the IFJ. They've gotta be amazing songs if we wanna win the final jam." I said as I wrote down song ideas for our duet. "Well since we're by the lake, would you wanna go for a swim?" Shane asked me as he looked at me. "Sorry babe, if I could, I would, but Brown wants me to hand in my song ideas to him." I said as I kept writing in my songbook. "Come on, Nik. We both need a break, summer camp is all about having fun with your friends, not working." Shane said as he stood up. "Ok, you win. Let me go and put my swimsuit on." I said as I walked to the cabin and put my purple tankni on. When I walked back to the beach, I saw Shane wearing dark blue swimming trunks. "Are you ready?" I asked smiling at him. "Yep,I'll race you." He said smiling at me and he ran into the water. "Cheater!" I yelled as I ran after him. After a few minutes of swimming with Shane, I floated by Shane as he swam around me. "So are you excited about the pajama jam tonight?" Shane asked me while he was swimming. "I am. I just don't know who's gonna perform tonight." I said as I kept floating. "Well, why don't we perform tonight. We haven't performed together since you got here." Shane asked me as he gave me a piggyback ride. "Sure." I said as I gave him a kiss. After swimming for a little bit longer, we got out and had chicken quesadillas in the mess hall for lunch. After lunch, I gave Shane a goodbye kiss and went to meet Brown to talk to him about the Pajama Jam tonight. When the classes were over, I went to the cabin to change into my pjs while the rest of the campers were getting ready. I put on a pink Camp Rock t-shirt, gray pajama pants, and white slippers. When I walked into the party cabin to help set up, I saw Shane helping his uncle put up a banner over the stage. "I thought you could use a little help." Shane said as he climbed down the ladder. Shane was wearing a green t-shirt, gray sweatpants and brown slippers. "Thank you." I said as he came down from the ladder to hug me. "All right kids, let's get this thing finished so y'all can have fun at the jam. After we finished getting everything set up for the pajama jam, the rockers started pilling into the mess hall. "How were the classes today?" I asked Caitlyn smiling. "Amazing, I feel like there's nothing me and Rosie can't do this year and I also feel like we have a better chance at winning this thing." Caitlyn said as getting a small bowl of popcorn. Caitlyn was wearing a orange tank top, gray shorts,white slippers and her hair was in a ponytail. "Great." I said hugging her. "What about you guys?" I asked sitting on a couch with one of two the new camp couples, Dana and Nate. "It was great. I've never played drums before in my life." Dana said holding Nate's hand. "That's because you have such a great drum teacher." Nate said kissing her forehead while she giggled. Dana was wearing a light blue Camp Rock shirt, black shorts,pink slippers and her hair was in a bun. Nate was wearing a gray shirt, black pj pants, and black slippers. "I'm happy for both of you." I said hugging her. "And what about you?" I asked Yara and Jason who were sitting on the other side of the couch. Yara was wearing a purple Camp Rock shirt, white shorts, white slippers, and her hair was in a side braid. Jason was wearing a blue t-shirt, brown sweatpants and brown slippers. "So many kids...." Jason said as he rocked back and forth on the couch. "It was fine. Jason just got scared by the kids and decided to hide under the table the whole time and made himself a birdhouse for his yellow bird Woodstock." Yara said gigging as she put Jason's head in her lap. I just laughed and went on to find Rosie,Ella and Peggy watching "The Best Of Me" in the Camp Rock Movie Theater. "Hey,girls." I said smiling. They waved. Rosie was wearing a pink t-shirt, pink and black shorts,pink slippers and her hair was in a ponytail. Ella was wearing a pink shirt, pink shorts, pink slippers, and her hair was down. Peggy was wearing a aqua blue tank top, black shorts,black slippers and her hair was down. I asked them how their days were and they said it was fun. After hanging out with them, I heard Dee's voice coming through the intercom in the theater and walked to the stage and stood by the wall with Shane. "All right Camp Rockers, here we have performing for us tonight at the Pajama Jam, is the Camp Rock sweethearts, Nikki and Shane." She said smiling at us. "Hey guys, this is gonna be me and Nikki's 1st time preforming together so here's a song that she wrote. I hope you like it." Shane said as he got his guitar from behind the stand. As soon as I heard him sing the 1st lyric, I almost started to cry. He's was singing my song "Wide Awake". "Nik, it's your turn." Shane said whispering to me while playing. "Ok, I said as I wiped a tear away from my eye. "A world that you've never seen before, starts moving i-" I said as I started singing as Shane kept playing. As I looked up at the crowd of campers,I started crying while running down the steps. "Nikki!" Shane said as he ran down from the stage as I heard people murmuring in the crowd. "Nikki, where are you?" Shane's voice said as he ran up to his treehouse. "I'm up here." I said as I covered up with a green Camp Rock blanket that was hanging on the ladder. "Why did you run off like that?" Shane asked me as he wiped away my tears. "No reason." I said smiling shyly. "Nik, we've been dating for 3 days. So please tell me what's going on." Shane said as he put his arm around me. "Alright,so in 2010, I started dating Justin Bieber. My parents were fine with it at 1st but then, there came me going on the Believe tour with him for two years, bring crowned his OLLG in Memphis, had a couple nickname for us "Jnikki", is what our fans call us, but then we wrote "Wide Awake" together and it was really sweet, we recorded it and the song made it to the top ten on the iTunes list, and everything was going fine until, we went on a joyride with some of his friends last year and we got into a car accident. The next thing I knew was that I'm sitting in the hospital, with my leg broken, a bump on my head, and my parents told me that Justin went to prison. Turns out it wasn't a joyride, it was drag racing, he was under the influence, and the cops arrested him. After I healed up and spent a few days at home, I went to visit him at the rehabilitation center in Canada, told him how I felt about us and then we broke up. So ever since then, I've just given up on dating, but ever since I met you, my feelings have changed." I said as I put my head on his shoulder. "That's sweet. But why didn't you tell me that song was personal to you?" Shane asked me as he smiled at me. "I didn't want you to know." I said shrugging my shoulders. "Plus I looked in your songbook while you were off checking on the classes." Shane said laughing. "You jerk." I said laughing while shoving him. "I know." Shane said with a silly look on his face. "Oh, before we get back down there. I wanna give you something." Shane said as he held out a small black box. I opened the box and saw a guitar and a microphone necklace. "Shane, it's beautiful." I said smiling at him. "I found it at the Camp Store and thought of you." Shane said as he put it on me. "Aww, and it has our initials on the back." I said as I flipped it over and saw "S and N forever. "Thank you so much babe." I said kissing him. "Your welcome. Now, come on, their probably looking for us at The Pajama Jam." I said holding out my hand. "Are you sure you wanna sing that song now?" He asked me. "Yeah, it was just memories coming back the 1st time. Let's go, Popstar." I said climbing down the ladder. "Alright, klutzy girl."
He said climbing down next after tossing the blanket back in the tree house and walking back to the party cabin to have fun with me.
