"I might have been wrong about you after all..." Blind Wing started.

Then he did something surprising. He kissed Red Eye on the cheek.

PoV: Red Eye/Shu Kurenai

My brain forgot how to brain.

"I - you - did you - me -" I started stuttering, got mad that I was stuttering which only lead me to stutter more.

Blind Wing just smiled at me.

I closed my eyes, and when I opened them, Blind Wing was gone.

I blinked once. Then twice. Then thrice. I was shocked. Obviously. I couldn't help but blush and think about how cute he - wait - cute!? Where were these thoughts coming from!?

That's when my eyes caught something - no - someone. It was none other than my old friend, Daigo.  He was about to say something, but before he could, I started backing away, which slowly broke into a run. I felt like a coward for that, but hey, can you blame me?

I found a building, not too big but not too small either. I went in, thinking I couldn't get into any more trouble. From the inside, it looked like an abandoned factory. I didn't give it much thought as I spotted a bench. I sat down and took a deep breath. I pinched myself, re-checking if this was just a dream or reality.

       "Ow..."

       Guess it wasn't.

Then I noticed something else. Why was there a bey stadium in the middle of an abandoned factory? I didn't give it much thought as I took out Requiem from my pocket. It glinted faintly.

       "Wow!"

       I nearly jumped.

I turned to my right to see a small kid with spiky red hair, red eyes, and a half-sun painting on the bottom of his left eye. He wore a purple coloured t-shirt, which had a white sun printed onto it, along with a red hoodie and blue jean shorts. He looked about five years old.

"You're Shu Kurenai!" He said, quite jumpy and happy, which was unusual since these days when people saw me, they maintained their distance.

"That's Spryzen Requiem! It looks so cool!" He continued. I couldn't help but smile at his enthusiasm, he reminded me a lot of Valt. In true honesty, I kinda missed him.

He decided it was a good idea to sit with someone who has broken a ton of beys. He was sitting to my left now.

He looked me in the eye. Now, this kid has definitely got guts.

"I'm Hyuga Asahi!" he said, with a wide smile on his face. I couldn't help but smile back, "Shu K-" I started but realized that he already knew my name.

Then I said something very smart.

       "Umm"

I mentally face-palmed. I was being even more stupid than Ashtem now.

He, thankfully, didn't say anything about it. I was glad.

"I've seen so many bey battles of yours! I love your style of blading! It's so cool!" He continued, then took out his own bey from his pocket.

"This is my bey! Enkavma Hyperion!" He said, showing his bey to me.  It was red, with a little bit of blue here and there. It also had some gold on the top, in a way it reminded me of the Sun.

"Enkavma? As in burn in Greek?" I asked, having absolutely no clue how I knew that. He nodded. "Can you launch Spryzen on the stadium?" He continued, "I'd like to see it in action!"

I nodded and stood up, walked towards the stadium, and took my launching stance. I glanced at Hyuga, who was on the other side of the stadium, smiling widely. I smiled back before paying full attention to the stadium.

       "3! 2! 1! Let it RIP!"

Requiem landed perfectly on the stadium. It left a trail of black like it always did, but that black slowly turned into red, which did not always happen.

I glanced at Hyuga again, who was looking at Requiem, stars in his eyes.

He went on talking about how cool Requiem was, till Spryzen slowly came to a stop and I took it, putting it back in my coat's pocket.

We sat on the bench again.

He looked up at me, "Why does everyone say you're mean? You're so nice!" He exclaimed. I didn't know what I could say, so I just stayed silent.

       A few moments passed.

"So... what's a little kid like you doing here alone in an abandoned factory?" I asked, getting sick of the silence. At that question, his eyes widened and dimmed almost immediately.

"It - it's ok if you don't want to say anything-"

"Nah, there's no problem in telling you." His eyes brightened again.

"I had a best friend-" he started, but I cut him off.

       "Had?"

"Yeah... He had to go to the US..."

He paused, took a deep breath, then continued.

"We used to battle here every day. This wasn't always an abandoned factory, it used to be a mansion. His mansion. I come here every day, it's the last thing left of him... I'm not even sure if he'll come back..."

He was teary-eyed now. I followed my instincts and did what I thought was right.

       I hugged him.

Please, don't tell me you thought I was heartless. You did? Okay... but hey, I know how it feels to lose a best friend- even though I may or may not have been the reason it happened.

       Hyuga hugged me back.

We stayed like that for a few moments, till he regained his composure, and we both sat side-be-side again.

       Silence.

I started getting sick of the silence again and decided to break it.

       "What was his name?"

Hyuga looked at me, and then at his hands.

       "Lane Valhalla."
