Autumn Kingsley

Adrenaline. It spread through my body like a burning, hot wild-fire; coursing through my veins making its way down to the tip of each one of my fingers which firmly gripped onto the steering wheel.

My tattered breath was clearly audible over the roaring sound of the rev engine.

I keep my eyes fixed onto the road in front of me.

I could feel my heart pounding against my chest, each palpitation rapidly increasing, making my heartbeats almost as clear as the sound of my staggered breathing.

My knuckles paled from the way I was gripping onto the smooth, leather helm; sweat that had been building up slowly trickled down the side of my head.

The tires of both our cars screeched against the concrete floor as we both picked up speed, nearing the finish line.

The arrow on the speedometre of my car was pointing at exactly 200mph, slowly increasing as I pressed my foot down harder.

My eyes flicker from looking back to the vehicle beside mine and the road.

I watched as it gradually got closer to mine.

Just as I was about to press down onto the pedal harder, the vehicle next to mine collides with the side of my car.

What the fuck.

I press my foot down brutally against the pedal, my breath hitches as I glue my eyes to the finish line that became visibly clearer as my car picked up more speed.

The car was right next to mine, meaning it still had a chance of passing me, but I wasn't going to let that happen.

I straighten my back and grip my hand tightly around the wheel, my foot pressing down harder and harder as I got closer to the line of victory.

Few more inches, nearly fucking there-

I let out a boisterous, blaring cackle as I crossed the finish line; my tires letting out an equally loud screech as I press my foot down on my brakes.

"Fuck yeah!" I screech, tapping my steering wheel. I hear cheers and applauds outside my car.

I immediately freeze as I remember Miller's car colliding against mine during the race.

Shit.

I get out of my car, rushing over to check the side of my vehicle.

Near my headlight, there was a visibly large dent.

You've got to be fucking kidding me.

Lilah, Raven, Lincoln and Grey run over to me.

"Autumn you won-" Lincoln abruptly stops speaking as he lays his eyes in the dent.

I push past Lincoln, my blood boiling as I clenched my fists.

"Hey, asshole!" I shout, walking, more like sprinting, over to the brunette who just exited his car, I try to unclench my fists to prevent myself from accidentally punching the asshole's face.
