Nik was painting and I was drawing when Bex walked in the room. "What took you so long?" Nik asked "Alaric didn't want to hand over the stake. Luckily I'm quite the charmer." Bex said and she showed us the stake. "That's it?" Nik asked "Last of the white oak stakes that can kill us. Do you want to do the honors, or shall I?" Bex asked and Nik grabbed the stake throwing it in the fireplace. "Well, that's that, then." Bex said "Pack your bags both of you. We're leaving." Nik said "Today?" Bex asked "Why not? There's nothing keeping us here. We'll grab the doppelganger and be off by sunset." Nik said "But tonight's the decade dance." Bex said

"So?" Nik and I ask in sync. "So I'm head of the committee. We have to go." Bex said "I'm not going to any dance." Nik and I say in sync. "Caroline will be there." Bex said "That means nothing to me." Nik said "Please? I have big plans for tonight. Just go for me." Bex said "Ok, fine. One last hurrah." Nik said "One last hurrah, Nik." Bex and I say in sync and we all smile.

-time skip-

I was standing outside the High School not going in because I had a bad feeling about going inside. I see Elena follow Jeremy outside the school. "Jer, stop!" Elena yells "This is Alaric we're talking about. You know, he looked out for us, And we need to do the same for him." Jeremy said "No one's gonna hurt him." Elena said and Jeremy goes to leave but Elena stops him. "Hey. Hey. Look at me. I promise." Elena said and that's when I see Esther walk up to Elena and Jeremy. "Elena." Elena turns and looks at Esther. "If you wish to help your friend Alaric, I suggest you come with me." Esther said "Jeremy, go inside and get Stefan and Damon now." Elena said and Jeremy walks away. "I mean you no harm, but willingly or not, You will come." Esther said and she walks away with Elena following her.

Jeremy walks back outside with Stefan and Damon but the vampires are stopped by a boundary spell bound with salt. They look on the ground and that's when they see the salt on the ground. "Salt. It's the binding agent for a spell." Stefan said "We're trapped here. Call Valentina. She's not here, she could get to them." Damon said "You think Valentina will save Ric and Elena? You do know who our sister is right?" Stefan asked and that's when I walk towards them. "I'll follow them see what's going on." I say and they look at me shocked.

I walk away from them and listening for Elena and Esther. I follow them to my family crypt. My phone vibrates and I look down to see that Nik's texted me. "Found them yet?" Nik asked "Salvatore Family Crypt. S&D should know where it's at." I text back

"You'll forgive me for taking you from the dance this evening. That's the burden of being the doppelganger, I'm afraid your blood is a potent binding agent for a witch's spell." Esther said "Just please don't hurt Alaric." Elena said and I hear someone walk towards them. "She's not hurting me." Ric said "Ric. What's going on? What are you doing with him?" Elena asked "I'm going to remake him." Esther said "Remake him?" Elena asked "Make him strong, fast, Like my children, Indestructible. For one final time, I'm going to tap into the dark magic I used a thousand years ago. Like my husband Mikael before him, I will make Alaric into a true hunter, the vampire to end all vampires." Esther said "You can't create another original. What if he turns out to be an even bigger monster than your children?" Elena asked "My son had a witch create another original over a century ago but he won't, Now that he's embraced his darkest aspect his hatred for them will become more pure and uncompromising. In death, that hatred will be magnified." Esther said "You don't know that. You don't know anything about him." Elena said "That is where you're wrong. Each time he died with that ring, during his brief journey into death, I was there on the other side. I spoke to him. I nurtured him, knowing that every death brought him closer to his true self. Vampires took everything from him. Now he's getting his vengeance." Esther said

"Ric, this isn't what you want. It's not who you are." Elena said "You don't know who I am, Elena. You only know the weakest parts of me, a man who lost his way, befriending vampires instead of killing them." Ric said "You don't mean that." Elena said "They're all monsters. The blood of their victims is on my hands, Jenna's blood is on my hands." Ric said "When you are ready." Esther said "No, Ric, please don't. Don't do this. I won't help you. I'm not gonna give you my blood. You're gonna have to kill me." Elena said "That won't be necessary." I hear Elena's pulse accelerate and then I smell Elena's blood. "Drink and let it be done." Esther said "No, Ric, please don't. No." Elena said "Is it finished?" Ric asked "Not just yet." Esther said and then I smell his blood and him fall to the floor.

"He'll wake soon. When he does, he may for a time be his old self. If so, you can say your good-byes before his transition is complete." Esther said "You said you wanted to undo the evil that you created, but this this is just as evil." Elena said "Alaric will never be what my children became. I have granted him enough power to complete his task. Then when the time is right, he will die." Esther said "How, if he's immortal?" Elena asked "All you need to know is that when this is over, we will have rid the earth of vampires once and for all." Esther said "Yeah, but you'll be killing the good along with the bad. You're no better than Klaus." Elena said "Am I not? I desire a world where you and your loved ones will not suffer at the hands of vampires, like your aunt Jenna did." Esther said "Don't you dare use Jenna as an excuse for what you've done." Elena said "You may draw comfort knowing that your aunt is not in the place that I was. She doesn't know the torment of the other side. Though made a vampire, she remained pure, and she knows peace... which is all any of us can hope for." Esther said and that's when I see Jeremy and Matt walk up. Matt has a gun and Jeremy has a crossbow. Esther comes out of the crypt and Matt brings the gun out.

"Don't move." Matt said "Where is Elena?" Jeremy asked and Elena walks out. "Jeremy?!" Elena asked "Let her go." Jeremy said "How foolish of you to risk your lives in defense of those who will kill you. But if that is your choice..." Esther said and she raises her hands making their weapons turn against each other. "Matt. Matt, drop your gun!" Jeremy said "I can't. I'm not controlling it." Matt said "Esther, stop it!" Elena yells and I quickly vamp speed behind Esther and kills her. Ric comes out behind me from the crypt. "Oh god. Where's my ring? Tell me what happened." Ric said

I'm standing beside of Nik as he opens Bex's coffin. He removes the dagger from her heart. Nik then walks over to Esther's coffin and looks down at her. "Your trap failed, mother. I live, and I will go on living. let your beloved spirits try to preserve you again. I dare you to come after me. I will build an army so big, no one will ever touch me. My survival will haunt you through eternity. You will never destroy me!" Nik yelled

Sorry for taking forever to update and sorry for the short chapter. Don't know when next update will be out because of me being busy with school. Hope y'all like this update though.

Update 10/5 -  So I plan on ending this book on chapter 30.  This chapter is written from Season 3 Episode 20. Chapter 25 and 26 will be the other two episodes of S3. I know for a fact I plan on ending this book on Season 4 Episode 16 which is the last episode before The Originals begins. I also know I plan on writing Season 4 Episode 12 which is the episode Kol dies. I haven't decided what the other two episodes will be yet.
