22) oddly familiar

"What you're going to do is give Josh a fairly risky mission." Maddie started, bringing them back to their plan. "I have just the job for that little bloodthirsty rainbow." Klaus announced and the Petrova Hybrid let out a snort at the nickname. "Love the nickname. Now, whatever it is you have planned, make sure it pisses someone off. People get blind when they're mad." Maddie advised.

"Daggers. I want him to fetch me those daggers." Klaus stated and the Petrova Hybrid froze but nodded slowly. "Perfect. A two-for-one piss-off fest. He's not going to do it, however. There'll be some bullshit excuse and then a trap will be laid out." Maddie pointed out and Klaus grinned, resting his hands across his desk.

"So what are we going to do, Trouble?" The Original Hybrid questioned and Maddie smirked back at him. "We're gonna walk into the trap. And prevail."

Stiles, Scott and Isaac came back, looking rather scared to even walk through the front door. Maddie watched in amusement from the window as Stiles shoved Isaac forward. "Go on." The Stilinski boy encouraged as he stood the furthest away from the door.

"What? Why me? Scott, you're the Alpha, you go in." Isaac suggested as he backed away from the door and Scott's eyes widened as he also took a step back, shaking his head. "Yeah, no. I am not about to walk in first." The McCall denied and both his friends stared at him with betrayed expressions. "What?!" Stiles exclaimed the same time as Isaac exclaimed. "Why not?!"

"Have you seen Klaus when he's angry? I vote Stiles goes in first." Scott declared and the human boy's eyes widened as he stared at the McCall boy like his best friend had completely lost his mind. "No! I object to that statement strongly! You both heal, I don't!" Stiles exclaimed with a glare and Scott shrugged.

"But you're dating Maddie so Klaus is less likely to hurt you." The Alpha stated and Maddie snorted as she finally made her way down the stairs to fetch the group. "Really? Throw your best friend into the line of fire? Is that what our friendship means to you?" Stiles ranted on as the door swung open, revealing Maddie who was leaning on the rail of the staircase, from where she stood in the middle of the stairs.

Her hand was raised lazily— a clear tell that she had used magic to open the door— and her eyebrows was raised in amusement. "Oi, Idiots! He's not home! Come inside, we got shit to do!" She called, before standing up straight and walking back up the stairs.

"See? You should've just gone in." Isaac stated to Stiles who sent him a hateful glare. "Shut up, dude!" He hissed back as Scott rolled his eyes, walking past them and up the stairs, leaving his two friends to share a look before they followed. Soon enough, they found Maddie in Allison and Lydia's shared room.

"So what's going on?" Isaac questioned and Maddie looked up from where she was folding Allison's clothes. "We're running low on time, so Klaus and I are taking back the city. Tonight." Maddie explained before she walked across the room, pausing when Stiles grabbed her arm.

"Hold on, what? You're pregnant!"  He pointed out and Maddie's lips lifted into a small smile as a snort escaped her mouth. "This conversation sounds oddly familiar." She joked, and Isaac snorted as Scott gave her a look. Stiles simply glared her down.

"Yes, I'm pregnant...but I'm also Immortal. Fun, isn't it?" Maddie stated with an exaggerated smile, throwing her hands in the air. "Del." Stiles scolded and the Petrova girl sighed as she dropped her arms. "I promise I'll be safe. I know these people, I know how they work. I'll be fine." She promised, a beat of deadly silence erupting in the room before Stiles reluctantly nodded.

"What do you need from us?" Scott then questioned and Maddie rubbed her forehead. "The easier job. Packing everyone's shit. We're moving out after tonight." The Petrova Hybrid stated and Scott nodded slowly. "Right... got it."

"Honestly, I like that job better than the last job." Stiles admitted as he rubbed the back of his neck and Isaac snorted, rolling his eyes. "Wuss." He coughed and Maddie snickered as Scott glared at the both of them. "Shut up, you do too." Stiles shot back and Isaac froze but nodded.

"I won't lie, yeah I do." Isaac shrugged. "Great. Well, I knocked out Malia, Lydia and Hayley's stuff already, I just need you guys to pack your stuff, Allison's stuff, pack everything in the fridge and cupboards, and all the alcohol." Maddie explained and everyone nodded.

"Anything else, my love?" Stiles questioned sarcastically and Maddie paused but then nodded.
"Yeah, actually. I'll text you a list, but I gotta go." She stated as she grabbed her phone. "What? Where?" Stiles interrogated and Maddie sighed.

"To visit our good friend, Josh. Don't worry, he'll be fine. I just need him to lead us into a trap." She explained as vaguely as she could, but even the vague version rose some red flags. "You're purposely walking into a trap?!" Stiles exclaimed and Maddie froze.

"Uhh... Would you look at the time, I love you very much but I really gotta run!" Maddie rushed out her words, giving Stiles a quick chaste kiss before running out. "Maddie! Damnit!" Stiles
yelled after her, before turning back to his friends.

...... hey.....

so uhm... yeah. got so many requests to update this even though I'm rewriting the series. So that's fun.

in any case it was so much fun revisiting the old world. i really did miss the dynamics I created and the relationships I've made and I have a plan of what directions I wanna go.

Sorry for the long wait, but here we are.
