The finale is the final words from me :)
This stand-alone, short (fantasy) story has been kept for how many months on the corner of my desktop, a few clicks from the folder entitled draft lies here.
Oh and here too, at the Wattpad app, in the drafts tab.
Strings That Binds Us is chaotically written. Everything in this story is undeniably turbulent, from the characters and all (at least for me). There are a lot of gray areas in this tale and I'm intending to revise this as soon as I found time.
But for now, I just really want to introduce Ingrid and Indie to this suicide prevention month. Even if in this story... it wasn't actually prevented.
I don't know if you found something in this story, realizations, new perceptions, or anything in between, although I hope you did.
If none, then I'll leave something here on my note:
When you close your eyes, you won't see anything, and it may feel like you can't do anything, but there's one thing that you surely can regardless of your lacking.
Be kind.
When you can't see, you can't choose when, where, and to who you can be kind. I hope you can and will do that even if your eyes are open. I hope you view every people as fragile as glass, like a mug or something that's so valuable to you that you've been handling with caution and care.
Because you know, we have to understand that we have no idea about the troubles that the people around us are dealing with. There's no signage that says, they're in the midst of family conflicts, they are having problems with finances, they dropped out from school, they lost a job, or they're grieving.
We don't know a lot of things, feelings of other people around us to be exact. We don't know whether there's a hole in their chest or they're slowly sinking into problems. Even I have no clue what you're going through right now but all I know is that you once wished for people to know the intensity of your sentiments.
Because if they did, the weight of the baggage you've been carrying alone could perhaps be endurable, or the tears you've been holding at the corner of your eyes can freely drop like rain in the middle of the shining sun. You can finally feel something else after being numb, empty, and drained for a long time.
There are millions or much more people who are beaten, bruised and wounded by their life circumstances. A lot of us are breakable, we all need to be handled with respect and compassion.
Because kindness is one of the strings that bind us all and with that string, no man can ever be an island.
Fun fact: Indie is Ingrid's parallel universe self.
