Remus stood in front of the ship, enjoying the fresh air after what felt like ages being locked in his cabin.

His lifelong dream was coming true. Remus had endured decades of talks from his concerned dad and bullying from his classmates because he wholeheartedly believed Atlantis was real - just like his mum had before she disappeared in her search when he was five.

She used to tell stories about it, sharing all her research with him. It was something they had shared together.

Remus took a deep breath to calm himself down. He missed her sometimes but had to remind himself that he was doing this for her. For them. To prove to everyone neither of them were crazy.

Greyback came up to him and put a hand on his shoulder.

Greyback had heard about Remus and personally sought him out to hear more about his research. It was because of Greyback he was finally able to put his theories to the test, and hopefully discover a lost civilization.

"How far are you with translating the last pages of the book?"

It was one his mum had found when she discovered a mistranslation that had led historians throughout history in the wrong direction. It had been written in an ancient language that he had spent years trying to decipher. Remus turned around. "I'm finished. I just wanted some fresh air before showing you," he chuckled nervously and waved the notebook in his hands.

Greyback smiled, showing off his half-rotten teeth. Remus looked down. "Perfect, Cub. Come with me and show the others."

Greyback marched back to the captain's cabin, and Remus hurried to follow. He didn't like the nickname he had been given but didn't want to complain; Greyback had generously funded all Remus' research, after all.

Just before entering through the door, Greyback put his hands on Remus' back and pushed him inside. The meeting room was still empty, but Greyback called the involved crew over the intercom.

The room quickly filled, and Remus' anxiety grew. Most of the crew were even more unpleasant than Greyback could be.

Once the room was filled, Greyback patted Remus' back harshly, encouraging him to stand up. Remus did so hesitantly and looked over the crowd.

"Erm, so as you all know—"

"Speak louder!" one of the crew members shouted, causing the rest of them to burst out laughing until they were silenced by a look from Greyback.

Remus reached for the silver jewel which hung around his neck, or rather half of it. It had been his mum's, but when he was younger, he had accidentally broken it. His mum had taken the two pieces and made them into new necklaces. He cleared his throat. "Yes, so. I've been translating the book which will lead us to Atlantis, and, eh, I've just finished it."

They all had a sudden devious glint in their eyes.

Remus started by summarizing the things they already knew, like about the sea serpent they had to defeat, and all the other traps they had to get past. He then talked about all the new things he had discovered.
