15. Yuck!!!

Kong was feeling much better after few days of his visit to the hospital.
Arthit showered him with so much care and attention in the last few days and Kong was touched with his every gesture

Kong saw Rose working in the kitchen and Offered her some help but Rose denied with a smile

"Are you sure there's nothing I can do to help ??"

Kong asked again

"No, dear, you and Arthit have already been such a help to me"

In the weeks since they have been in Viang, Arthit and Rose have grown closer, due in part of Kong's little mishap. Now kong was able to walk a little but he was still a bit slow, so Arthit was the one helping Rose in the kitchen, setting the table, getting ingredients from the refrigerator and running errands.

Rose was going to start her 'Stay and Dine' from tomorrow. For the first time since they came here, There will be a family of four joining them next day. This will be their first experience with Rose's customers. Kong was kind of excited to see how Rose runs things and slightly nervous to see how Arthit takes so many strangers in the house where he was just beginning to become comfortable. Though judging from how he did at the hospital, Kong believe he'll manage just fine

Rose has also had the additional duty of trying to find a speech therapist for Arthit, as recommended by Maria. So far she hasn't had any luck finding the right person

All of them were feeling Roger's absence, Rose more than she would like to admit. On several occasions Kong have noticed her going into the room Roger stayed in, and Kong can understand that a relationship between them would be difficult, but he was rooting for them. He believes they would be good for each other

Today the house was a flutter of activities. Rose seems to be everywhere at once, she was up before dawn, and baking since then. Arthit and Kong were giving her a hand in getting the rooms ready, making sure everything was perfect.

When the guests arrived, they were a little surprised to see more people than expected. Mr. and Mrs. Patt and their two teenage children, Jane and James, had made reservations two weeks ago. Now they have arrived with Mr. Patt's brother, Mark and his children Hope and Danny, who appeared to be roughly the same age as their cousins.

Mr. Patt apologized for the inconvenience, but Rose assured him that it will be no problem. The four large bedrooms upstairs will hold everyone, as long as the children were willing to share rooms. Unfortunately that wasn't going to happen. Hope and Danny were somber, didn't say a word, but Jane, however, has plenty to say and blatantly refused to share a room with anyone.

Kong felt truly sorry for Rose in that moment, she has already agreed to host this family and, though it was rude of them to bring extra people, Kong knows she needs the money

Turning to Kong, desperation clear in her eyes, she asked if Arthit and Kong would be willing to stay in the stone cottage a short distance from the main house.

"Of course. Whatever we can do to help"

Kong told her

After a short discussion with the guests, it was decided that Mr. and Mrs. Patt, Jane, James, and Hope will use the four bedrooms upstairs, and Mark and Danny will share the room Arthit and Kong were staying till now.

Through all of this exchange Arthit has remained silent, his fingers toying lightly with Kong

"I have brunch prepared for all of you, if you'll follow me into the dining room"

Rose said to everyone

Everyone turned to go, trailing Rose from the room, all except..... Jane. She stood there, head tilted slightly, gaze fixed on Arthit for just a moment before turning to go. Once she reached the doorway she looked over her shoulder, throwing Arthit one last look before disappearing. Kong was glad to see her go, she has been eyeing Arthit since she arrived and frankly, Kong dosen't like it at all.
