Traitor on board - Act one

On the way

"Well, there's a mushy pile of something down in storage and it has a skull near it", while walking Burt already taps on his tablet to see if the cameras in the area caught something this time "If it's not a dead body then I still can't imagine this to be something good"

Sven tries to at least fix his hair a little bit. The leader looking like a complete mess surely will not help this situation. "Why would a body look like... that though?"

"I don't know, I don't want to know, but I fear we'll have to find out..."

But before the group gets even close to storage they get intercepted by three other people.

"Burt! I don't know why you don't want to talk to me but we need to tell you something. Right now!" It doesn't look like Earrings is in a better mood than she was in back in the cafeteria.

Henry and Wallace seemed to wanted to stay out of this and only a worried looking Hattie and a furious Carol are behind the blond toppat.

"I told you to stay out of this, Earrings!"

"Earn back my respect before trying to tell me what to do!"

"I just lost all respect for this woman", Earrings pauses "You look like something else happened"

"You don't need to worry about it", Sven forces a smile and tries to get past the three "It's just... a little incident"

Earrings isn't satisfied by this answer at all but Hattie is the next to speak. She grabs Svens' arm "What's wrong, Pappa? Did you get any sleep the past days?" "I'm fine..."

"Lies", Earrings huffs before leaning over to look at the screen of Burts' tablet "If yours isn't big then let me talk. Please?"

Carols' eye starts to twitch "Could you please stop acting like some intrusive, entitled brat? This is none of your business"

"It is all of my business, bitch!", she snatches Burts' free hand "Cause this is my brother!"

"What are you even screaming about...?"

"I am perfectly calm"

"A calm person would not need to be held back by two grown men so she doesn't hit her superior"

"Shut up!"

Burt sighs and lightly squeezes Earrings' hand, causing her to look at him instead of glaring daggers at Carol "Earrings... As long as nobody is dead or the station isn't about to explode it can wait. We have to take care of this"

"Bu-"

"It has to wait. Go and look after Hattie" he releases her hand and after Sven quickly hugs Hattie, who is grumbling about not needing a babysitter, the two men continue to walk down the corridor.

Carol follows them without another word or look to Earrings.

"... was wondering where you guys went", she sighs and straightens her hat "I'm not angry at you. Carol is my problem"

Hattie rocks back and forth on her heels "So... how much longer do we wait till we follow them?"

"This is long enough"
