(y/n) walked down the hall feeling herself get more and more nervous with each step that she
took. She was nervous to see Sal, scared that he would not want to see her after hearing her
answer. Her hands felt shakey as she did her locker combination. She opened her locker and
started grabbing the things she would need. She started working on calming herself down when
she felt someone tap on her shoulder. She felt anxiety explode in her stomach as she turned
around, scared to face Sal.
“What’s wrong?”
“O-oh- It’s uh, j-just you, Tr-Travis.” (y/n) said, slightly relieved.
“Yeah, just me. Now tell me what’s wrong.”
“Wh-what d-do you uh, what d-do y-you mean? No-nothing’s wrong.” (y/n) lied.
“You’re lying.” Travis stated bluntly.
“N-no i’m n-not.”
“You look to the left when you lie.”
“I-I do?”
“Yeah. Now can you tell me what’s wrong?”
“I-it’s r-really uh, i-it’s really no-nothing.”
“Then why are you so nervous?”
“W-well, S-Sal asked me o-out yesterday, a-and uh, a-and I g-guess th-that uh, that I’m j-just
nervous t-to give him my a-answer.”
“S-Sal asked you out?”
(y/n) nodded and fidgeting with her flannel’s sleeves.
“Well, are you going to say yes?”
(y/n) noticed that Travis seemed kind of… Hurt? Sad? She couldn’t tell exactly what it was, just
that it was some kind of negative emotion.
“W-well… do you uh, d-do you th-think I should?” She asked, starting to doubt her answer to
Sal’s confession.
“I think you should do what you want. I have to go.”
Travis walked away, leaving (y/n) feeling hurt and confused.
Thinking about what Travis said made (y/n) start to doubt what she was going to say to Sal, but
at the same time she felt like she should stick to what she wanted to say. She kept going back
and fourth to herself but knew she had to make up her mind fast because she could see Sal
walking towards her.
