I grab all the needed ingredients and started cooking

I put all ten sandwiches on a long rectangular plate. I started placing placemats on the table and took seven bowls from the cabinet and placed it on the table.

"What smells good?" I heard David yell from upstairs. I chuckle and saw all of them going down except for Xander. He was still probably working.

"You cooked?" Andrea asked surprised "Yeah, I woke up early and decided to cook for you guys" I said scratching my arm awkwardly "What is that?" Gabriel asked looking at the egg soup "It's korean egg soup, you guys haven't tried it before?" Andrea's eyes brightened "I've had it before! It's really good!" She quickly walks to Gabriel, pushing him aside "Oh my God this looks delicious, L!" She said sniffing the soup

"Can we eat now? I want to taste this korean egg soup that y'all are hyping up" Jase said with curiosity

All of us sat down and everyone started eating "Now I get the hype" Jase said, eating his second bowl of soup "This is really good" Lucas said finishing his sandwich "Wow brunette, wifey material much?" David teased. I chuckle and roll my eyes "I guess I am" I jokingly flip my hair

"Aren't you going to eat?" Andrea asked "I'm waiting for Xander" I said shyly, looking away trying to act like it was nothing but I can already see the smirk that was forming on their faces "You like him don't you?" Gabriel teased "Well duh, captain obvious" Lucas said rolling his eyes "Just be careful though" Jase said, still eating soup

I look at him curiously "We all know he doesn't do relationships ever since you-know-who came and destroyed everything" David glares at him "You can shut up now" He said sternly

Jase looks at me and smiles sheepishly "Just kidding, with this egg soup I bet you'll have him begging for you" He quickly turns around, avoiding our stares. I look at David who was now looking at me with a small smile "Honestly, from what I saw yesterday, he likes you" David said reassuringly

but Jase was right. Xander told me he doesn't do relationships so what were we doing? Did this mean anything to him? Was I another girl that he spends his time with when he's bored?

I look at David who was still looking at me waiting for a response but I just give him a small smile, making him sigh

A sound of heavy footsteps coming down stops David from talking "You guys done eating?" Xander asked "Yeah but Lauren's waiting for you so you guys should eat breakfast together now" Andrea said, standing up "Let's go guys" She pulls everyone leading them to the living room

"But I'm not done yet" Jase whined, trying to get another bowl of soup "You're done" Andrea said sternly making Jase sigh and give up. He grabs the small amount of sandwich that he had left and follows Andrea to the living room

Xander sits beside me "Did you have fun cooking?" He asked looking at the food that I made. I force a small smile and nod "Yes I did" He looks at me for a moment, sensing that something's wrong "Are you okay?" He asked, focusing on me now. I give him a quick nod "Yes! I'm just tired because I woke up early that's all" I forced a small laugh. He looks at me suspiciously but nods "Let's eat"

I pour myself a small amount of soup and started eating quietly.

What were we?

We acted like a couple and he surely treated me more than a friend

Should I ask him? No, last time I asked him he pushed me away. Do I really want him to push me away again?

But I didn't deserve this, I shouldn't settle for something like this. I deserve a man who wants to be with me without hesitation.

He needs to talk to me and be honest with me

"This is really good" Xander said, eating a spoonful of egg soup "Thank you" I said quietly, still focusing on my thoughts

"Lauren what's wrong?" He said with furrowed eyebrows.

I look at him wishing that he would realize that what he was doing to me right now is whats wrong. I wasn't even sure if he liked me. He only said that I was important and that he couldn't stay away from me. Thats it.

What if he was just leading me on because he knows how much I like him?

I stand up, keeping a straight face "I just need rest" I quickly turn around and walk upstairs to my room. Xander calls out my name but I don't stop. I quickly enter my room and close the door shut.

I lean back to the door, closing my eyes tightly feeling embarrassed.

I look like a desperate girl right now

"Lauren?" I heard Xander's voice call out "Open the door and let's talk" He said in a serious tone

"What's there to talk about? You just keep pushing me away whenever I try to talk to you"

Silence

We haven't even started talking and he's already back to his quiet self? I've had enough of this

I quickly march to the door and open it. I look at Xander who had a blank expression "You were fine this morning, what happened?" Xander asked, entering my room and shutting the door behind him "What happened is everybody knows you don't do relationships, Xander" I said in a low tone "You clearly don't have any plans on committing to anyone right now"

"But what-" I pause, taking a deep breath "-what are you doing to me right now?" I whispered. He looks at me with nothing but a blank look on his face "What are you talking about?" He said nonchalantly, breaking my heart slightly

"Don't act like you don't know what I'm talking about!" I said a little louder, getting frustrated "I treat everyone the way I treat you, Lauren"

I look at him surprised. Was he seriously trying to make me look crazy right now?

"I don't see you kissing them" I said, slightly pissed off. His jaw clenched tightly, telling me that I was getting on to something "You should take a rest, you're just tired" He said turning around, ready to leave my room but I was done with this. He wasn't going anywhere this time. I quickly grab his arm "If you don't have any plans on taking me seriously then we might as well just sto-"

"then leave" He muttered lowly, his back still facing me.

I froze

My whole world stopped when I heard him mutter those two words

He didn't have any plans on taking me seriously

He didn't want to try

He wanted me to leave

I quickly let go of his arm as if touching him burned me. He stays like that for a few more seconds then turns around to look at me "I'm sorry if you thought we had a chance" He said in a low voice

"but I'm just too damaged to be with you"

My world shattered
